Trump thinks he’s king and sadly, doesn’t know the constitution, this has proven to be one of the hallmarks of his time in office thus far.  It’s truly amazing that his advisors don’t tell him the truth and reality before he goes out and says things like this: “When somebody’s the president of the United States, the authority is total,” and that’s the way it’s got to be” He also tweeted “”For the purpose of creating conflict and confusion, some in the Fake News Media are saying that it is the Governors decision to open up the states, not that of the President of the United States & the Federal Government. Let it be fully understood that this is incorrect,” Well, it’s not incorrect, and it’s Trump that is spreading fake news.  I guess he’s just electioneering and playing to his base and others that are equally ignorant of how our government works.  One more reason Richard Dreyfuss is working so hard to get the teaching of Civics back into schools.
What is happening, though, is that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said his state, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Rhode Island and Massachusetts each plan  a regional working group.  Likewise on the  West Coast, the states of California, Washington and Oregon also announced they are joining forces in a plan to begin incremental release of stay-at-home orders. Governors of the three states will collaborate on their approach to getting back to business  “in a safe, strategic, responsible way,” as announced by  Gov. Gavin Newsom. The announcements by the West and East coast governors  were obviously meant to preempt pronouncements coming from the Trump,. Governors on both coasts were strident  that their decisions will be driven by facts, science and public health professionals, not politics.
