Barbra Streisand and the Religious Philosophy of Kabbalah

The following fax was sent to E! Entertainment:

“Your recent story listing Barbra Streisand among artists who have embraced the studies of the Kabbalah is about four years out of date and, as Mark Twain once characterized reports of his death, ‘greatly exaggerated.’ Barbra satisfied her curiosity by attending a study class in the religious philosophy on one occasion. Barbra is concerned about being put forward as a devotee or expert because that requires years of dedicated study, not one night. But, as another superstar once said, ‘The only trouble with superstardom is that if you ever duck into a store to get out of the rain, you’re their customer forever.’ “
