Americans can’t take anything for granted on Tues November 4th. In the 2000 and 2004 elections, voter fraud, voter suppression and voter intimidation were rampant, especially in the critical swing states Florida and Ohio. This year, we are likely to break voter turnout records. Hundreds of thousands of voters have lined up to vote early around the country, and we have already heard numerous accounts of electronic voting machine glitches, registration and ballot issues and long lines. The information posted … Read more »

The Republicans fight dirtyathey take every opportunity to shift the political conversation from substance to frivolity. They don’t want the public to see the huge differences between the two parties. Less than two weeks ago, John McCain mocked Senator Obama’s appearance at a Hollywood fundraiser.
And where do you think John McCain was supposed to be tonight? On Monday it was announced that he himself was coming to Hollywood for a fundraiser charging up to $40,800 a plate. The hypocrisy… … Read more »

A couple of weeks ago, I turned on my television to tune into the Sunday morning news shows hoping to get a glimpse of Sarah Palin in order to learn more about her. I remember hearing from Bob Schieffer that McCain’s campaign manager Rick Davis had said, “Palin won’t do many interviews until she is treated with respect and dignity.” I thought I heard wrong. Thank G-d for Tivo. I rewound it and played it again. Then I didn’t know … Read more »

How else can we pay for our country’s enormous budgetary needs?
And what does “spend” mean? Spending means meeting the needs of the people …to make sure the food we eat is safer, … Read more »

We are in the worst financial crisis this country has faced in modern times. During these eight long years of Republican control, we have seen runaway greed, the deregulation of financial institutions and the mismanagement of the housing market resulting in the skyrocketing number of home foreclosures. This has led to a disastrous unraveling of the U.S. economy. We can’t continue with four more years of the irresponsible practices and policies of the Bush Administration.
The country can’t afford to … Read more »
