Dear all…

Don’t assume anything is active, because it may be inactive!

We can’t trust Trump with this election knowing how he is conniving to steal it!

A friend forwarded this to me this morning (see below.) Please make sure you’re registered to vote. This election is too important…

Hoping you’re all well…

I first met Cis Corman in acting class when I was 16! She was 32 and had four children. She remained my best friend and surrogate mother since then. I treasured our lifelong friendship, her intelligence, her taste, and her integrity. I loved Cis dearly and will miss her forever. She was also Auntie Cis to my son Jason.

Cis cast our first film for Barwood Films, Up the Sandbox. Cis went on to become a pre-eminent casting director

In times of crises, we join together as one nation indivisible.  We salute our true heroes – the doctors, nurses, scientists, clinicians, pharmacists, food workers and every first responder who compromises their own safety and well-being to ensure ours.

This pandemic has the potential to bring out the best in us — not only as citizens of the United States, but as a global community with a common goal.

The Prince of Tides Criterion Edition – Out Now!

The Prince of Tides was released nearly 30 years ago… and I’ve just finished an updated director’s edition working with Criterion on this new package for over a year. I hope you enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed doing it.

We’ve restored the movie to a 4K restoration…and I combined commentary that I recorded in 1991 with new commentary that I recorded this past year. There is a special making-of featurette, along with some archival interviews recorded at the

I am profoundly sorry for any pain or misunderstanding I caused by not choosing my words more carefully about Michael Jackson and his victims, because the words as printed do not reflect my true feelings. I didn’t mean to dismiss the trauma these boys experienced in any way. Like all survivors of sexual assault, they will have to carry this for the rest of their lives. I feel deep remorse and I hope that James and Wade know that I … Read more »

“Government really sucks.” This belief, expressed by the just-confirmed education secretary, Betsy DeVos, in a 2015 speech to educators, may be the only qualification she needed for President Trump.

Ms. DeVos is the perfect cabinet member for a president determined to appoint officials eager to destroy the agencies they run and weigh the fate of policies and programs based on ideological considerations.

She has never run, taught in, attended or sent a … Read more »

Any parent who has had children in middle school is familiar with their teenage excuses. First, they complain that the teachers are mean and assign too much homework, then that the reading is boring, and then when all else fails, they give you that aggrieved look and whine, “It’s tooooo haaaaard.”

The point is that whatever happens, it’s someone else’s fault.

Re “Republicans Vote to Formally Silence Warren” (news article, Feb. 8):

The Republican silencing of Senator Elizabeth Warren on the Senate floor was shameful. White House leaks are common, but leakers suggesting the president might be unfit for office are not.

The Huffington Post.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump was confused about the dollar: Was it a strong one that’s good for the economy? Or a weak one?

So he made a call ― except not to any of the business leaders Trump brought into his administration or even to an old friend from his days in real estate. Instead, he called his national

THE EXECUTIVE ORDER that President Trump signed on Friday calling a temporary halt to travel to the United States from seven predominantly Muslim nations — and indefinitely blocking refugees from the world’s largest humanitarian crisis, in Syria—is an affront to values upon which the nation was founded and that have made it a beacon of hope around the world. Rarely is the question asked: Is our Cabinet secretaries learning?

Today’s lesson: the education of Betsy DeVos.

It’s always upsetting when my words are taken out of context.

Here is the truth. When I started working on my 1976 movie, A Star is Born, I tried to get my friend Sydney Pollack to direct it. To clarity misinformation in a story issued by local Los Angeles television station, KABC, the nature of cloning occasionally results in the birth of a litter rather than a single animal. The cloning procedure in this case resulted in a litter of four beautiful puppies, three of which survived. The KABC story was inaccurate in it’s headline which stated that Ms. Streisand had had beloved Coton de Tuléar, Samantha, cloned twice. The fact is that in using the DNA of … Read more »
