I know you don't like this type of compliment, but every time I hear you sing as I did today on "Oprah" it brings me back to 1969. My spine was fused in a major surgical procedure to correct scoliosis from polio I contracted as a toddler in 1952. Complications arose and I was hours away from losing my life at 18 years old. My mother brought my Streisand records to the hospital and played them around the clock. Obviously, I survived. I will always believe that the power and beauty of your voice saved my life.
