I'm a fan (and you should be too) because... The themes, music, and the words Barbra sings are universal. Her choice of songs and her choice of words touches the heart, mind, and soul of every human being. The language used including vocabulary, diction, and expressions is beyond comparable with any other artist singing in the English language or in the English speaking world.
The harmony of the melody with the voice is magnificent. The orchestration is amazing.
Her characters in most of her movies are funny and witty at the same time. Her character's talk a lot and one never tires of listening to them going on and on.
I love Fanny Brice in Funny Girl. I love the Literature Prof in Mirror has Two faces, and I love the sex therapist in Meet the Fockers.
Barbra's spoken voice is as beautiful as her singing voice.
Her music crosses cultures and brings people together.
I am glad to live at a time when the Arabic Speaking World has Fairouz, and the English Speaking World has Barbra Streisand
Lots of Love from Kuwait
Dear Barbra,
I was driving with my 62 year old mother to do some grocery shopping while listening to your album, when she suddenly asked, " Is this Charlotte Church? Her voice has matured and is beautiful!" Just before we left I read your letter saying that you feel young after 5 decades.
I laughed at the coincidence, connecting how young you feel and my mum thinking you were Charlotte Church. Barbra, I've always loved you, your voice, and every single word you utter out of that mouth of gold with great eloquence and articulation.Read more »
