    I was totally mortified to read Larry Kramer's reaction to your statement on Prop 8, Barbra. I know you appreciate the truth out of people. But there's a fine line between speaking of truth and speaking out of line. His "reaction" to your statement does NOT speak on behalf of the gay community as a whole. It seems his reaction is more tainted with bitterness and resentment. It appears that he's only looking out for his own interests in getting his play made into a movie.Read more »

    I think it would be such an excellent decision if you would undertake this role. By the looks of the samples of the script, it seems to be tailored made for you, Barbra. The fact that you are receiving offers to star in today's brand of comedy with today's brand of actors is incredible - not to mention the fact that today's young movie goers can be quite critical to "seasoned" actors.     It saddens me to view this knowing that two of my nephews who are brothers, one of whom is already in Afghanistan, and the other being inducted into the army next week and is expected to be deployed to Afghanistan like his younger brother. He's only doing it so that he miraculously may be able to be by his brother's side in this bitter war. My cousin, who is their mother, is devastated by their decision to be in the army. But at the same time, she's trying to be brave and strong and supportive of her sons decision and I've had to learn to keep my shut about my own opinions.Read more »
