One of the most memorable Occupy Wall Street refrains

One of the most memorable Occupy Wall Street refrains:

"I refuse to believe that corporations are people until Texas executes one."

Comments for this Statement

Though this is unrelated to the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement, I'd like permission to call attention to the Trayvon Martin case here, please:

What happened to young Trayvon represents the very worse in Conservative thought, and shows what dangerous crackpots some of these 'tea parties' activists are, especially the ones of the extremist wing of the NRA.

Sadly, what's being overlooked is the culpability of the NRA in getting the Florida legislature to pass this heinous 'Stand Your Ground' law.

Justice for this murdered young man means that it is not enough to just arrest George Zimmerman (though he should be arrested): What the NRA did here is even worse then some of the actions of the Ku Klux Klan and the 'Aryan Nations' white supremacist groups.

The second amendment does not justify this 'Stand Your Ground' law, and the NRA's error in this case is not just a difference of opinion: They, and the others who helped pass this legislation in Florida, are literally accessories to murder, and should be held accountable. It actually makes a mockery of the second amendment, rather than uphold it, and it violates other aspects of the U.S. Constitution. It is possibly one of the most unconstitional statures ever passed all told.

A criminal case can be made by President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder. They do not need the permission of the state of Florida to arrest George Zimmerman.

Who arrested James Earl Ray? Agents of the federal government, after he tried to run and hide, after what was essentially a terrorist attack. In this case, 'Homeland Security' federal legislation maybe applicable, too.

A civil case can be made by the Southern Poverty Law Center against the state of Florida, more so perhaps the NRA, and perhaps as well even the Florida Republican party. They won a similiar case against Tom Metzger's heinous 'Aryan Nations' white supremacist group, and should be able to win this case as well, if they choose to take action.

I hope you will agree with me on this, Ms. Streisand, and allow for this posting.

With Pesach (Passover) arriving, we should remember that this heinous 'Stand Your Ground' law which Conservatives, with pressure from the NRA, passed through the Florida legislature, is so similiar to what happened to Jews in Nazi Germany:

It was common practice then to accost Jews in the streets in Germany, in many cases murder them outrightly, and then for the police to refuse to arrest the perpetrators.

That is a darn good example of just how bad is this law, and how bogus the Conservatives' claim is of protecting the U.S. Constitution.

The fact that this 'Stand Your Ground' law is many times more unconstitutional than anything in President Obama's health care plan is not even the very worse of it.

It's downright fascist; the very worse of the Conservative agenda.

Regardless of their past mistakes, we should all stand with President Obama, Rev. Jackson, and Rev. Sharpton, and go all the way in defeating the intent and purpose of this law and the people who helped make it the law.

We should, imho, be altogether in saying 'Amen' to that.

Have a good holiday, Ms. Streisand, and thanks for letting me speak here.
