Dear dear Barbra,
I'm 40 years old and was a fan of yours since i was about 8.
I had a very tough childhood, and the lyrics of (especially Yentl) were my greatest therapy.
I could lie in my bed with a headphone ,and just cry my eyes out,to feel better the next day.
In a way (and without putting you on a "pied de stall") you helped me a great deal during a really difficult time in my life.
I mean,i was never the type of person to look at anyone any different, except for the talent someone has. Know what i mean?? i don't idolize....but still.
So,as an adult ,my wish was to see you preform ONCE in my life,if i ever got the chance.
So about 15,16 years ago,i wanted to come to london, but my grandmother died. So i didn't make it.
So now, when you came to Italy,I guessed it was my last chance.... because i remeber you once saying in an interview, you don't really like to preform.
Can you imaging my dissapiontement ,when i saw the prizes!!!! I have 2 kids,am not so fortunate(don't missunderstand,I have 2 fantastic kids) just moneywise ,for me this was really a monthspay.
I know you do a lot for charity. For that reason alone,I never ever downloaded a song of yours. Always wanted to BUY every record!!!
I just wanted you to know (guess you'll never even read this yourself),how very dissapointed I was.
((
But Yentl will always be my favourite movie and CD!!
What you did there was in my eyes underappreciated.(oscars)
Anyway ,the best of luck to you and your loved-ones,
from a dissapointed fan,
Evy Van Roosbroeck xxx
