anybody else going nuts...

This new cd grows and grows and grows on you the more you listen to it. I'm sobbing here having just listened to Where Do You Start?. IMO this is Barbra's most satisfying album to date. Sure each one is special in it's own way, but I'm really feeling where this artist is with her work and in her life with this one...in my soul.
Who needs shrinks for catharsis...we have Barbra!!
Bravo girl.

Yes, I am nuts for several reasons but as being nuts applies to Barbra.....
I have yet to open my Love is the Answer CD. The CD remains wrapped. I'm thinking I'll finally open it this weekend.

Note to previous poster.

Zip open the CD and play it already . . .what are you waiting for . . . The Super Bowl?

How many things are MORE important than LITA.? Mahler's 8th?

WELL?

Where Do You Start is a masterpiece, and my personal favorite on the cd. Even my fiance, who is in no way, shape, or form a Streisand fan (his only negative quality) was duly impressed with it and asked me to play it again. In fact, he really likes the quartet version of LITA and said he would even listen to it in his car, which is a pleasant surprise.

So I guess he can still be my fiance.

yeah, I went nuts today, my CD was in the mail, I had it mailed from the US to Austria, where I live. my hands were shaking when I unwrapped it and I am so touched by listening to Barbra singing these songs which such feeling and melancholy. her voice seems to be the instrument for her heart and soul and you can feel that she means every single word she sings - she must have very carefully chosen her material - as always. once again she goes to show that she is the unique Barbra Streisand and that there are no matches in sight, not even among the very young ones. I really wonder who will ever play her role when it comes to making the movie on her life. I would call it "Barbra Streisand, a funny girl's story" as she will always be remembered as Funny Girl and has also always been known for her great humour and girlishness .. enough for now, I have to return to my CD player, LOL

Andy

yessss i'm with you!!! LOL
so much so that i've been too busy listening to take time to check out the blog : )
i haven't been THIS crazy about a barbra cd since The Broadway Album!!! (the first barbra cd i ever got...with a BONUS track remember? : )

i have listened to LITA EVERY day on my way to and from work...3 months now and going strong. it's just Perfect!!! (in it's 'imperfection' of course ...it is too human to be 'perfect' : )
the song selection is brilliant. songs i've always wanted to hear her sing (i heard Where Do You Start on a Michael Feinstein album probably 15 years ago...and the minute i heard him sing the lyric ...and learned it's a Bergman song...i thought WHY... is Barbra not singing this??!!! )
ahhh what did Anshel say about patience?

i LOVE hearing the pared down barbra... don't misunderstand...i'm a huge fan for almost 40 years!!! and love all the music ...but this really is a work of art for me!!!

How about casting Lauren Frost in the role of Barbra if/when they make a movie of her life...?

I know when Lauren Frost was a teenager she looked like Barbra, but know that she is twenty something, does she still look like her?

what do you think....she is the best! She is here to stay forever.
She is an exquisite talent. Always was and will be. This elegant, stylish album proves it.
I look forward to hearing her for many years to come, and maybe she may even be doing another movie these days.
Love the album!
