Live Concert at The Forum
It’s impossible to choose and to say which one of the live performances are the best.
But to me Live In Concert At The Forum (1972) is one of the very best …WOW! Barbra’s voice is magical here!
I still have hopes and dreams about that this concert was taped, and that it will be released on DVD someday (soon!)

I have also wondered if the Forum concert was taped as well. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I've had the album for years and it's one of my faves! xoxo
Awesome recording. Some of the vocals are real career standouts. I love how she completely overcomes her stage fright (she was terrified before she went on) and just sings her heart out, winning over the tentative audience before the end of the first song. What a triumph!
If the Forum concert is released one day, one of my biggest dreams would have come true. Does anyone know if it was taped?
I heard it was not video taped and was not even going to be audio recorded, thank the Lord it was, Sweet Inspiration/Where You Lead is one of her all time best recordings
I've wondered if concert were taped....its among her best life performances....her voice gradually soaring at the end of "Starting Here, Starting Now"
Not sure if this is from the forum performance or not but
i saw something on Barbra archives.com that said
on October 28, 1972 a telethon for McGovern's presidential campaign was broad casted on King-TV in Washington state.
Included in this broadcast were filmed endorsements for McGovern from Barbra Streisand and Carroll O'Connor
Gee, I don't know if this concert was taped; I always hoped it was, at least in part, as this is one of the most dynamic LIVE performances by any artist in the history of American music ! I think Barbra was able to overcome her stagefright since she was doing this for a CAUSE, something she truly believed in, and that trumped all the pressures, the fears, and worries about "being perfect" (notice she DOES joke "I wish I were back on the set"...ha-ha). ROLLING STONE did an awesome review which was included in the original album's liner notes. Her energy and enthusiasm came through loud and clear through each and every musical note. My favorites are "Didn't We (almost make it)" and "Starting Here, Starting Now". Those 2 are arranged magnificently, and she certainly rises to occasion ! It'll probably go down in history as one of the finest pieces of work she has ever done. It was truly remarkable ! Good topic ! (I would've LOVED to have been there).

Hey Barbra Fans
I have to tell you - I was there in 1972 @ the Forum for the concert
I will always remember that evening - James Taylor and Carol King went on stage first @ the McGovern benefit for his election. I always remember seeing Barbra
sitting on the side of the stage - thru my binoculars ( in those days - there were no
large video screens) lol
I saw Barbra sitting on the side of the stage - very nervous that the young audience would not appreciate her voice. But her voice filled the large arena - it was amazing !
I was not old enough to vote - but It was a great concert!
It was said in the newspaper reviews - that Barbra had rehearsed for many hours
thru out the day - to get the sound just right - Warren Beatty was there too *
Some great memories ......I even had the original "foldout concert memorabillia "
until recently - I gave it to a really good friend - who's a great Barbra fan too
Love corresponding with other Barbra fans - thank you
