1994 The concert at Arrowhead pond in Anaheim
I love this concert. I call it my birthday concert because I was born in 1994. I recently moved to Anaheim and the day before I moved I was watching this concert for the fun of it and noticed for the first time it was held in Anaheim. What a coincidence! I hope she does another concert in Anaheim. What do you guys think of this fabulous concert?? =-]

This also is my favourite concert. I was so pleased when it came out on DVD so I could replace my VHS version. I saw Barbra in 94 at Wembley London, it was this exact same concert. The duet she does with herself "Piece Of Sky" was the icing on the cake, that night she brought the house down. She looked amazing, her voice was amazing, and I loved the biographical theme, Barbra going back through her life. It helped fans know and understand her better, and it dismissed a lot of things we had read in the media about her. This wasn't just a concert of her singing standard songs, it was the meaning behind why certain songs were chosen. Apart from the famous interview, I also believe this concert showed Barbra in a different light, and made many of us warm to her and want more. I was lucky enough to see her again in 2007 at the O2, which I enjoyed. It was different, but I wasn't expecting it to be the same. IMO nothing can match that 94 concert. I have often wondered which one was Barbra's favourite?
from the moment she sang I don't know why I am frightened ther was such an intimacy as if she was having an intimate and vulnerable conversation with us .
yes there was something about that concert as the audience was really with her , not that her other ones aren't just as good ,but it seems this one stands out as her comeback concert.
I also learned to sing listening to streisand records as a young kid and totally identified with her when i was young and first saw funny girl even being a guy as I was skinny ,cross eyed and always wanted to know what it was like to feel handsome.

I was there but I'm too sleepy right now to share the experience.
I am sure that 1994 concert is great like Barbra's other concerts. But my favourite concert is ''Timeless''.
It was a millenium concert and was a great show with wonderful voice ''Lauren Frost'' and of course ''Brother Time''.
The 94 concert is to me the ultimate diva concert from any popular artist. from the first note to the last its the epitome of why shes been Americas premiere vocalist for her entire career, our signature ambassador to other countries, and why shes the greatest star in show business
I decided to come back and respond to this thread. As I was saying, I was at this concert in 1994. In fact, I was at the concert that was rescheduled due to Barbra having throat issues. The summer concert that I attended was the same as the one duplicated onto DVD. I was working in NY at the time and had already planned and purchased the concert tickets that were suppose to be for the last date scheduled before Barbra canceled. I had to fly back to California the same day as the concert and fly back the next day. I may have been too exhausted to fully enjoy the experience. But, I do remember that everything and every movement and every note was perfect. I stayed in my seat until I was just about the last one to leave the venue. After the finale song, which everyone thought was the final song..I knew better.....I knew Barbra would return and she did. I wasn't about to leave until the lights came back on or security kicked me out. I got my monies worth and I made every exhausting minute count.

I saw the concert, it was the first one she did after she had been ill. I was very excited and enjoyed every minute. She was personable, and her voice was perfect. (I think she wasnt sick at all...maybe at Nordstroms for the shoe sale?)
Anyway, what stands out to me, was the quiet entrance everyone made into the auditorium. It was like we were all being quiet in honor of her. I also remember the outrageous number of limo's parked outside.
I stuck around until I was sure that she was done...would'nt you?
I'll never forget watching this on TV - Barbra's return to a live performance in 27 years. How I wish I had a huge, surround sound TV then. I don't think my mouth closed for the moment she opened hers with "I Don't Know Why I'm Frightened"? The drama of the presentation was overwhelming, surpassed only by her duet with herself (Piece of Sky). I recently got the DVD of that performance, so I can not only remember it, but watch it on a regular basis. I'm not too sure how many times I've watched that duet! It will NEVER get old and NEVER be forgotten. Thank you, once again, Ms Streisand, for a life altering experience. The only thing that would have been better would have been for me to be physically present. I certainly was emotionally.
Ah! You are very lucky! I would like to watch this concert on DVD, but I can't because it's not available in my country. To me it's a biggest dream! Oh, I swear to God, this concert is must have for me. I hope one day I will purchase it. But the fact I can see some moments from this concert on youtube makes me happy! It's better than nothing. Barbra was magnificent there, simply inimitable!
