15 Song Barbra Play Lists
In this digital age we can all listen to any Barbra song anytime we want. We don't have to wait for the record to start over or fast forward the tape (or for the 8-track to cycle all the way through!)
So what's on your playlist? How do you mix and match the best of Barbra? List 15 songs you play frequently:
On Holy Ground
Sing/Make Your Own Kind of Music
Emily
I Have A Love/One Hand, One Heart
Make Our Garden Grow*
How Are Things In Glocca Morra/The Heather On The Hill*
One God
Warm All Over
Wet
Kiss Me In The Rain
Lascia Ch'io Panga
Le Mur
Yentl Medley (from the Concert)

I Wont Last A Day Without You
I could probably come up with 10 more lists, but these are songs I play a lot.
*sadly these two are not availible comercially, but they are real gems if you can get your hands on thm.

I have been collecting her works since 63/64, she could sing the phone book and I would be thrilled!!!! I was priviledged to attend her 2006 concert on election night in Chicago........NEVER NEVER NEVER did I expect to hear a voice that was far and above any sound ever captured on film, vinyl or cd. I will NEVER forget that experience , never........................

Oh Lord, this is DEFINITELY going to be a challenge as I listen to so many of them ! So let me try to do this in some sort of order, as in release dates. I'm WAY OLD (ha), so please bear with me as I go into my very own "archives".
Why did I Choose You ? (from my Name is Barbra), Right as the Rain (from the 2nd Album), The Kind of Man a Woman Needs (from My Name is Barbra 2), The Nearness of You (from Simply Streisand), Gounoud's Ave Maria (from the 1st Christmas Album), Will He Like Me ? (from People) Natural Sounds (from the Central Park Concert), Until it's Time for You to Go (from What about Today ?), Since I Fell for You (Barbra Joan), No Easy Way Down (from Stoney End), Martina (Je' Mapelle Barbra), Letters that Cross in the Mail (from Lazy Afternoon), Make it Like a Memory (Guilty) Golden Dawn (Guilty Pleasures) and last but certainly NOT least SMILE (from the Movie album).
Runners up: After the Rain (WET), Tell Him (from Higher Ground), King and I medley from B'dway album, and Speak Low from the 2nd b'dway album plus, from Barbra's Christmas memories, "Closer" and "One God".
Thanks for allowing me to contribute ! Fran from NJ
A big PS "the Moon and I", a song recorded but not used for Yentl, and "A Piece of Sky " from Yentl itself. I've recently listened to Songbird and really love "Deep in the Night"...something I wish Barbra would record again in an intimate setting. It has great 'jazz club' potential ! Fran
