It's truly amazing, but I recently found that life-long dreams can come true. On December 8, I made the decision to fly from Florida to Los Angeles to see Barbra perform live. Although I knew that this would be a limited performance, she performs so infrequently and in such varied places. One never knows where, when or if she will sing live again. So off I went, expecting to see her sing a few songs for a fairly small audience, so that I could realize one of my most cherished dreams. Little did I know how significant this trip would be.

I arrived at the hotel early, so decided to walk by the room where the performance would be held that night. As I walked by, a door opened, and Barbra was on-stage rehearsing. I was allowed in the room and watched her rehearse for over an hour from the second table from the stage. Oh my God, she is BRILLIANT!!! And beautiful! And kind, charming, funny, all of the things I knew her to be! I still can not believe I was there. If only my mind had a video recorder in it!

Then, as Barbra was leaving rehearsal, she stopped when I called her name, said hello to me, came over and extended her hand to me to shake! I was in total awe! As I expected, I couldn't get another word out of my mouth! There were, and are, so many things I want to say to her. I can only thank her for her graciousness.

The performance was wonderful. I was fairly close to the stage, so could see her well. The depth of feeling of her performance was overwhelming. It was recorded, so maybe someday it will be released.

Barbra, if you read theis, thank you so, SO much for being so kind to me and for making this middle-aged woman's life-time dream come true. I have memories that will remain with me for the rest of my life. And I'm waiting for your next CD and movie to add to my collection. Of course, if I can get to another live performance, I will be there.
