Of course not, Anttman, you are hardly alone ! In 1980, I had just gotten out of the hospital when GUILTY was released and for ME, it was very uplifiting and such great FUN to hear Barbra experiment with different types of music. The Gibbs have a great reputation for writing songs that really touch people, and they have such a distinct "sound"; it was amazing how Barbra was able to "fit right in" ! I love the last song in particular, MAKE IT LIKE A MEMORY; her range is fantastic. Naturally, I was thrilled to hear about a second collaboration with Barry Gibb et. al.; the songs are VERY intense, and with Barbra's natural ability to let music "flow through her" yet emphasizing the story behind the lyrics is awesome. She can easily "paint the pictures" the Gibbs, as writers, are trying to portray. The duets are very sweet, yet powerful, and it's enjoyable to watch the 2 of them sing together on the DVD's of the making of these CD's. Both are still SEXY and ADORABLE after all these years ! They obviously have a tremendous rapport and enormous respect for each other's talents. My favorites on GP's are HIDEAWAY, WITHOUT YOUR LOVE, GOLDEN DAWN and most especially, LETTING GO, which was a perfect way to end this album. PS. I had a friend with whom I sort of parted ways, not anything drastic, just changes in our lives, our job situations, etc. and recently, I found out she died from lung cancer. When GUILTY came out and we ALL ran out to get it, I recall her saying that the song "I Will Never Give UP" was her favorite. I'll bet she fought her illness with the same spirit this song intends ! By the way, the "Guilty " Duet won a Grammy that year ! Have a great day, Fran from NJ

I do know that you can't spell her name correctly. Its BARBRA not BARBARA.

Sorry for the triple post!! I want to apologize anttman for snapping at you! I just realized that you are from Sweden, so that probably explains why you spelled her name wrong. It's just a pet peeve of mine when people misspell her name. Oh and by the way, I agree with you completely, I love Guilty!!!! Although I'm not a fan of Gibbs, Streisand and Gibbs sound good together

My apologies,

I really enjoyed the album "Till I Loved You", though I don't think it was a big seller, with the exception of the duet with Don Johnson, after which the album was named. I noticed how many songs were written by Burt Bacharach, such lovely tunes, I completely wore out the tapes in my car ! I'd sing along with " On My Way to You" since it so nicely expressed how I felt about meeting my husband, finding someone to appreciate me, to genuinely love me (and vice versa) after all those "false steps" in life, as they obviously happened for a REASON (according to the song's lyrics). Barbra also looks gorgeous on the cover in her "mini-skirt and boots" (throw-back to the 60's) ; I especially like the black and white photo. The only thing that would've made it MORE perfect would be if she had been holding a long-stemmed white rose in her hand. It would've suited the album's many themes of LOVE !! See ya, Fran from NJ

I love the Emotion album, to me that really sums up the 80's, especially Left in The Dark. It's such a big power ballad and typically 80's in its musicality. The duet with Kim Carnes (Make No Mistake, He's Mine) is an unusual take on a love song and it works great- we all know Barbra doesn't feel the need to conform!

And the cover art, Barbra with big jumper and BIG hair, it's stunning!
