I have a friend, we have known each other for 26 years. She lives int he USA and is currently battling Cancer -again.

I spoke with her the other night after, during an online chat, she revealed that not only has her cancer returned, but she is running out of money. I immediately phoned her to ask what was wrong.

She needs to cover almost $800 a month in order to keep up her medical treatment. Without these treatments, her cancer will continue to grow and kill her.

I was stunned. This treatment is free in England - 'Yea, I wish I was British, living in England right now..' Her situation is desperate and she is having to reach out to friends for money as no matter how hard she works, she cannot cover these costs.

Support Obama's reforms. Everyone should be entitled to medical help. It hurts me to think that should my friend fail to pay her medical dues... her treatments will simply stop. It's like, well you're going to die from this because you cannot pay.

My Aunt battled cancer for over 30 years, she had it 13 times. All mainline treatments were open to her on our National Health System. In those 30 years she saw her 3 children grow up - marry and have children of their own. She was just 63 when she died. My friend is much younger - and has much more life to see - if she can pay.
