We are the world?
I read that a new recording of Michael Jackson's most famous hit has been rerecorded for Haiti hearthquake victims: Barbra is supposed to have recorded a part of the song.
does anybody know if this is true?

Yes, she was in the studio with all the other artists. The song will air on 12 February on NBC, possibly in connection with the Olympics?
Yes, but I don't know whether she has a solo part. There was picture of her with Quincy Jones at the taping in USA Today this past week.
So footage is now appearing from the WATW sessions and there is a clip of our Barb singing her lines. It is just her in a booth and no music and wow, is Barbra sounding great or what. She looks amazing and just by hearing this small section, it is clear she is still sounding fabulous.
So now all we need is to get Barbra back in the studio for a new album. We surely can't go years for a follow up to LITA.
Great to see her taking part in this.

Yes, Barbra has a solo part. She has the line that Diana Ross did in the original.
from what I have seen, a little snippet, she is singing the part that Diana Ross sang in the original version.....I am sooooo happy to see her in the pics with all the other artists, she opens the song, she sings the very first verse in the song.......I always thought she should have been in the original version, but it's never too late...and it is for a good cause......love the pic of her leaning on wyclef and looking into the camera.......You go, Barbra..........

Viewed and purchased the full-length video and MP3, and Barbra looks and sounds terrific at every turn. beginning with her solo early in the song. We see her several times in the huge chorus.
Kudos to you, Barbra, for participating! Every one of us needs to buy a copy. I hear Target may be selling physical CDs in a few weeks.

i downloaded the song and donated $ for Haitian relief.
I saw the video on youtube and thought Barbra did an excellent job with her part in the song as well as the part sung by Pink and Mary J Blige. I wasn't feeling the Celine Dion part that was sang by Cyndi Lauper in the original.
I heard Barbra was very friendly, no surprise, and had a conversation with Snoop Dog.. Would have loved to have been a fly on that wall.
I hope this song can help those people in need in Haiti and much much more is needed. I am proud Barbra did her part to help.
I hope Barbra met Pink and Mary J and maybe just maybe this will bring some new duet partners????????? Just a thought....
