Love Is The Answer Vinyl - Sony/BMG Selling Promo-Scored Copies

Does anyone out there know why it is that we're paying $20 for promo-scored LPs of "Love Is The Answer"? The folks at Skyroo, which handles online Barbra merchandise, including this otherwise gorgeous 2-LP set, told me that Sony/BMG has only been shipping these with the barcodes promo-scored. Why are we paying for promo vinyl and, like most promo items in the music industry, does this mean that neither Barbra nor any other participant in the making of this album is receiving any compensation? Respectfully, I'd love for someone from Sony/BMG to explain this, including letting us know where we may exchange this promo for copies they can ship in retail condition, since the fans have been paying for their copies.

Has no one else purchased a copy of the album on vinyl? If so, look closely at the barcode and you'll notice that it's been scored through the shrinkwrap. Comments?

Hi! I'm from Italy.
I bought on line the vinyl from Great Britain 'cause I couldn't find it in Italy, but the vinyl was shipped to me without shrinkwrap, in good conditions and there's a barcode in the back side. If I understand the problem for my item there aren't any problems, the barcode seems correct as an original product that you could find in the store.

Thanks, apieceofsky. Take a really close look at the barcode, though. They've definitely scored them (at least the 3 that friends and I have received) but it's a bit hard to notice. If yours is intact, I'm happy for you! Great to have vinyl for this beautiful album, isn't it?
