Barbra and James Brolin in movie directed by Nancy Myers - a good combination for a new movie

Hello everyone

I have just recently seen the new movie with Meryl Streep, It's complicated.
I'd love to see Barbra and James being directed by Nancy Myers in an intelligent, smart comedy love story. I think that would be the perfect talent combination for a fantastic movie.

All this talent in one movie - can only be good!

Nancy Myers has similarly an eye for detail - like Barbra - and same tastes. I am sure on a personal level, working together, they would hit it off. Barbra could feel really well taken care of by Nancy, as she is a great professional.

I'd love to see a project like this.

Have a nice weekend, Andrea, Budapest

I have seen the movie, It's Complicated, too!! It was soo wonderful and funny, and I agree. I think that would actually be a great casting couple to star in a romantic comedy! Barbra and James are a gorgeous pair and it would be interesting to see them actually work together. I hope they find a project that fits well to their personalities someday!
P.S. According to your picture, you really look like Meryl Streep! Smiling

When Barbra received her AFI Lifetime Achievement Award she said something about wishing she had done more comedies, then a few years later "Meet the Fockers" was released and she was ADORABLE as Roz, a perfect match for Dustin Hoffman's Bernie ! I haven't seen "It's Complicated", YET, but everyone I know who saw it LOVED it and said the same thing I was thinking " We'd enjoy seeing Barbra in a romantic comedy like this one ! " Well, I guess her "perfect partner" is James ! However, I know that Jim has directed films himself, and with Barbra also having sat in the director's chair many times, it might be fun to watch one or the other direct while the other would match-up with yet another co-star, like Harrison Ford, or maybe Stanley Tucci...or the very adorable and talented Sandra Bullock, Bette Midler, or Ms. Goldie Hawn...just an idea ! Overall, whatever Nancy Myers or any other writer may conceive for either Barbra, Jim or BOTH, it would have to be chock full of wit, sophistication, and overwhelmingly clever . These 2 are talented actors who want to tell a good story while entertaining us. It's not just about alot of 'adolescent silliness' (though there's nothing wrong with it, on occasion) but a true romantic comedy in the style of Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman in "Indiscreet" or the latest offering from Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson in "Last Chance Harvey". It would have to be a 'class act' worthy of these folks and something those of us over 55 could truly enjoy and even relate to. Good topic !
