Wow, the first to reply ? I've got to tell you this...it was through magic and an enormous heartfelt gift from my husband that I was able to see BARBRA LIVE in the summer of '94 at Madison Square Garden. He knew this had been a dream of mine, to see her IN PERSON and hear that incredible voice LIVE before I left this earth ! I've been a fan since I was 12, so this was really something I'll never forget. We sat close enough to see her fairly well, what a delight ! My husband said if he'd had a camera (none allowed) he would've taken a shot of the look on my face when BARBRA stepped out on stage. I was mesmersized, as was the entire row of fans with whom I shared company (and food, binoculars, tidbits of BAB's memorabilia); the entire experience was something words could not express. She looked lovely, sounded marvelous, was witty, clever, charming and engaging. I didn't want the night to end. Not having seen anyone else at the Garden, I have nothing with which to compare this event, but let me just say once again, WOW ! Am so looking forward to the release of her Village Vanguard CD as her fairly recent 'accessibility' to her audiences has been a breath of fresh air. No one can compare, she's #1 !
