Help needed from Barbra fans

Hey guys, my partner is a big Barbra fan and he turns 50 in January. I'd love to try and get him some sort of message or card from Barbra just to put a smile on his face. Would anyone be able to help me out by pointing me in the right direction please?

She must get an insane amount of fan mail, and I don't really know if she has some kind of PO box or something (but then again I never really researched it lol.) What I would maybe do is try to mail her a sase with your whatevers to her through her agency's address. I did it once with a certain Broadway actress, and I got stuff back (a whole year later, but then again, through the agency is not really the best means.) I would suggest maybe including a card you want her to personalize and a short note saying that it's for your partner's 50th birthday. This of course doesn't guarantee anything, but it's the best I can come up with at the moment.

I've never tried it myself, but ....

I passed this address on for such purposes and some came back to me and told me they got an autograph, so at least it is worth a try:

Barbra Streisand
160 West 96th Street
Suite 8S
New York, NY 10025
USA

They included an self-addressed envelope and an international reply coupon.

Gook luck for you - maybe it works, but January is pretty short timing.

it is impossible to get in touch with her

i've been trying to write to her since i was 7 years old

Have you thought about writing to her Manager, Mr. Martin Erlichman? I once wrote to him asking if Barbra had recorded a particular song, and mentioned in passing that I would be going to one of the London concerts in 2007. I had an unexpected (and unsolicited) signed photo of Barbra sent to me in reply. Last year I received a second signed photo of Barbra (again, unexpected and unsolicited) after I had written to Mr. Erlichman asking him to pass on my appreciation of and compliments to Barbra for a particular track from her "Higher Ground" album. We all know Barbra is a busy lady, but it may be worth asking Mr. Erlichman if he can help on your behalf. Remember he will be scrutinising your letter to make sure you are not of the the "Krankies" or "Crazies" (crazy people) who try to write to Barbra directly, so it stands to reason that he probably only forward such correspondence that he thinks is appropriate. I guess that means no "begging" letters, and nothing long-winded. It might be an idea to include some apprreciation of Barbra's work (I'm guessing something other than "People"). I guess that if your letter overall is charming, witty and intelligent, who know it might just get you the result you want.

I wish you the best of luck! I just sent a letter to her manager yesterday. I figured it would be easier than the fan mail because the fan mail is in NY and Barbra lives in California and see's her manager often.

How do you write Martin Erlichman????
