Re: This Week: Barbra on Larry King, Good Morning America and Nightline.
There seems to be a simple solution to keeping the corporations, banks and special interests from "buying" candidates and pushing their agenda over the best interests of the country and the world. Campaign reforms.
I do not know how many ads I saw where there were no facts about what a candidate had acomplished or what were their beliefs and legislative records, etc.
We need a standard disclosure form for each candidate that is limited to their information only. One rule, the candidate cannot say anything about other candidates on this disclosure form. They only provide information about themselves. They reveal what issues and programs they support, their legislative record, etc. This form (along with their application form they have to file to be on a ballot) can be accessed in a number of ways. On-line from the state elections board or the League of Women Voters, or the Central Committee, at the library, on demand from a cable outlet, faxed request, etc. Everyone will have the candidates own disclosures provided by the candidate. The clear first-hand facts.
Candidates will be free to spend crazy money doing whatever attacks, smears, etc. but we will all have access to the facts about each one in a clear and controlled format. If a candidate does not want to completely fill-out a for, that is acceptable if they choose to withhold information. It will just leave them open to scrutiny by others, including the press.
This will eventually make is cheaper to run for office and eventually (hopefully) become the primary source for the information to help voters determine who really is best suited for leadership. This should attract better people to the job who cannot take the risk, spend the time or find the money to run for public office. If it is less expensive to run a campaign and not spend money on debunking lies, it will take some, or most, of the corruption out of the campaign process and returning favors.

Re: This Week: Barbra on Larry King, Good Morning America and Nightline.
It is 2:45 A.M., December 31 and I have been watching Barbra on the Larry King Show and thought she was wonderful. She is prettier than I have ever seen her, she is getting better looking as she ages. I have been listening to her music since I was in high school and such beautiful songs she has sung and such a great voice. I will always remember her as the best. Thanks for the memories Barbra!! Re: This Week: Barbra on Larry King, Good Morning America and Nightline.
I felt very priveledged to watch the episode with Larry King and Barbra on his ending series. After watching the interview I was so impressed with Barbra's Barn, that for Christmas I had asked for her book, My Passion for Design.
Today is Christmas Day, 2010, and I got the Book. I love it so much. It's is a beautiful book and wonderful explanations of everything that Barbra did to creat this beautiful Barn. I would give anything to be able to tell her myself how much I enjoy this book.
I spent the whole afternoon looking at it and reading.
I want to Thank Barbra for giving me the little bit of delight to be able to see inside her heart and mind when it comes to designing.
Barbra has been my favorite "Actress who Sings", for as long as I can remember.
Thank you so very much for helping one of my Christmas Wishes come true with Your Book. I love it very much.
Sincerely,
Ranny Gunn

Re: This Week: Barbra on Larry King, Good Morning America and Nightline.
Though no fault of Barbra's, it would have been nice if ol' Larry would have come up with even one intelligent, thought provoking question rather than "when did you know you were good?" (singer)....Jeeez. But as usual, Barbra was patient and polite. On a different note, having endured a grueling high end renovation myself, I got a kick out of Barbra's obvious shall we say "angst" when Larry pressed her about her architects.
Re: This Week: Barbra on Larry King, Good Morning America and Nightline.
Dear Barbra,
I saw your interview with Larry King and I thought you and your home are
beautiful. I guess I should tell you my story of how I came to know about you.
I am new to your website and this is an exciting moment knowing that I can communicate to you my admiration for so many years. In my high school in 1976-1977
most everyone had your A Star Is Born Album. Mind you it was the time of from disco
to rock and you came out with this mixture of ballads and rock and roll you floored
everyone! I have been a fan ever since, After I learned about your career and started
listening to your older music it was great. Watching your interview with Larry King
you said that you had only made 18 movies and that gave me the inspiration to finally
write you and to tell you it does not matter how many movies you have made. You are
a great talent and person, what you have done big or small has made an impact in the
world and certainly in my life. I would like to wish you and your family
Happy Holidays.

Dear Barbra,
Watched your interview with Larry King. As in my previous comments, you are an inspiration on so many different platforms. I love your sense of hope inspite of the DIS-EASE within society that I feel prevails at the moment. I also believe that Barrack Obama is a good man and that he is still working extremely hard for CHANGE! The battle we face as a global society is not to sink into a sense of APATHY and HOPELESSNESS! I have just written a poem about DIS-EASE of man and have published it on my blog. http://wwworphanstones.blogspot.com. Would love your comments, or those of your followers if that were possible and if people had time coming up to the greatest festive family time of all.
Thank you for being YOU!
Love and Admiration and wishing you Barbra and your team a very Happy Christmas and Peaceful New Year!

Re: This Week: Barbra on Larry King, Good Morning America and Nightline.
Very good interview.
What is going to be an issue going forward is that it appears that the country is moving back to where it was right before the financial crisis started.
With Healthcare reform what it appears that they are not talking about is that Medicare/Medicaid is insurance as well. If the Constitutionality of an individual mandate is being tested then it appears that it should be tested for Medicare/Medicaid as well.
Most people who are paying payroll taxes for Medicare/Medicaid are paying a tax and not currently receiving any insurance benefits under these plans. These plans are in financial trouble.
Will the test of Medicare/Medicaid become a constitutionality issue as well?
I am not saying that these are not good programs but when you take a hard look at what is going on it is all about the control of a Federal Dollar. It is a Federal dollar that is paying for these programs. If you take a look at the Fraud with regard to these programs at the State level, how would the Federal Government prevent subsidization State by State? This might give rise to subsidization issues within the States. This is probably why the Commerce act should cover the constitutionality of the new legislation.
If not, then a person that is paying for Medicare/Medicaid should have the option not to pay into these programs as well. This would not be good for our current Healthcare situation in America.
Will the Constitutionality of Social Security come next?
We should be very careful here.
Thanks,
Robert H. Smith

Hi: Watched you on Larry King and you look lovely. I not sure if you read your email but we met when i was about to get married. An early afternoon in May you were working in a Chinese Restaurant in Brooklyn, my Mon Dad and me and my boyfriend took the day off to arrange for the wedding. My Mom was pregnant and died a few years later leaving me to raise her 2 daughters. Well all turned out well and we are a very close family. But just thought you might remember, that time its a picture in my mind because very rarely were we are to be together in happy times. We met again and i was thinking how unusually beautiful you were. I am about to be Married for the fifth time if i go through with it. Hopefully all we be well with you and
yours. Marilyn

Barbra, what a joy it has been to see/hear you in quality interviews! It has been a treat to see your home and hear about your process. I am now 65, retired, and a lifelong appreciator of your work and your life. Having just finished watching your time with Larry King, I simply had to write a note and say thank you. I have CHF for several years now. I don't want to miss an opportunity to thank you for a lifetime of work.

Hello Barbra,
I have loved your music and your movie talents for a long time, but tonight I love your humanity.
I'm a 73 year old retired educator. Thank you for verifying my continuing hope that Barack Obama is still the audacity of hope. I totally agreed with almost all that you said and I'm so grateful for the confirmation that I'm not totally crazy to still believe in the transformative hope that we can still regain our momentum as a country founded on belief in the power of the people.
Just another fan letter of which you probably receive hundreds of thousands.
Keep the faith,
Jean Stratton
Re: This Week: Barbra on Larry King, Good Morning America and Nightline.
Barbra, you did an awesome job in the interviews-especially the Larry King one!! You articulated so calmly, were so confident, and spoke so well FOR us (laypeople) on all the important issues!! As a female, and as someone who has always looked up to you (You are 18 yrs my senior), I want to say that I am so proud of you! (not that what I think matters-i'm just saying).
Keep speaking your/our truth. You explain everything so it is not hard to understand. You are definitely a force to be reckoned with. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes by you: "I scare you don't I? I'm so far out i'm in!" (you got em scared- your reaching millions)
You looked great, and rested and full of life and energy. It is extremely ironic to me that you mentioned your father re: talking to presidents, as I was just thinking about this quote for the last few days and how it applied to you! You are truly your father's daughter.
"A MAN'S GIFT MAKES ROOM FOR HIM, AND BRINGS HIM
BEFORE GREAT MEN"
---- Proverbs 18:16
You are inspiring me again like when I was a teenager to get out there and help change the world too! (This year I started a foundation that provides funding for emergency utility shut ons/food/clothing and housing for single mothers: "The Debra Abrams-Graddy Foundation" Named after my sister who died in 2008. (My sister and my mother both died in their 40's and early 50"s of heart disease leaving young children and teenagers behind).
So thank you for your Cedar-Sinai research center. G-d has, and IS definitely using you,
thank you for being a "willing vessel".
Much luv,
your #1 fan

Re: This Week: Barbra on Larry King, Good Morning America and Nightline.
Nice eyeglass frames, Barbra. Maybe I should have asked where you purchased your frames. I'll be shopping for frames tonight. I wish I could see your frames up close but since going blind from using this computer too much, I am unable to see your frames clearly. From what I can see, they look quite nice. Larry's are nice, too but I like yours better.

Re: This Week: Barbra on Larry King, Good Morning America and Nightline.
Dear Miss Streisand,
I hear a song - lavendar sheets - from your interview with Robin Roberts.
Sorry to say, haven't been a fan - perhaps it has been my loss. Will study your music to determine this. However, have loved your films. Acknowledge your longing for privacy - all people are born with this basic equality - this is our basic gift and people in the public have that taken away and that is unfortunate. So, keep soaring!
Re: This Week: Barbra on Larry King, Good Morning America and Nightline.
It says on Barbra's Face book page "that due to error here's a sneak peak of tomorrows interview." Does she just mean this picture or is there some footage could not find footage if anyone knows let me know. I will go back to face book and ask there as well.
