Barbra will be honored with the L'Oréal Paris Legend Award at the 18th Annual Elle Women in Hollywood Celebration on October 17th. Other honorees include actresses Jennifer Aniston, Frieda Pinto and Evan Rachel Wood, as well as DreamWorks CEO Stacey Snider. Emerging actress Elizabeth Olsen will receive the Calvin Klein Collection Emerging Star Spotlight Award.
Barbra will be featured on the cover of November's Elle magazine, on newsstands October 17th.
Next month, on November 8th, Barbra will receive the Humanitarian Award at the 2011 Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors Gala in LA.

I just want to say that Barbra's new album, What Matters Most, is so spectacular - I listen to it all the time... I am so grateful that she is still singing and producing new albums - what a gift - what a treasure! I have been listening to Barbra since I was 12 years ( and I'm now 53), and the magic never leaves me whenever I listen to her sing. Thank you for changing my world and inspiring me!

this is a big hello from france to tell you that it is justice for you to receive the Humanitarian Award because no one as Citizen and as an Artist fights as much as you do for the environment, the human rights, health and so on...
I've been admiring you for so many years because you're not only the talented artist everyone knows but you're first a woman of our times, a person who cares about the world we live in and about the people and I can tell you that as you say , as a "working progress" you do such a great job!
One last thing, I really do hope one day you"ll write your biography so that your fans will have the only truth important about you : yours!

I can't wait to see the article. I only happened on the design book by Barbra at my local B&N bookseller. I was actually impressed with the story, design and pictures. I like Barbra's attention to details. It's that attention to detail which makes the difference in quality VS schlock. I will be interested to read the Elle article.
One more thing, and I couldn't find another area to write this: How do I go back in the time archives on "Barbra On This Day" to see what she did on certain dates or years? I'm curious to know what she did on Sept. 28th, and I keep missing the date each year. Is there a way to check it out?
