The debut of Barbra Streisand's new Columbia album, "What Matters Most: Barbra Streisand Sings the Lyrics of Alan and Marilyn Bergman" at Number Four on the Billboard ratings announced today marks the CD as her 31st album to chart in the Top 10, moving her into third place among all recording artists in that category of achievement. With today’s placement, Streisand passes the Beatles to the number three position behind only Frank Sinatra and The Rolling Stones. The new CD's ranking extends her lead over all female artists and acts in number of Top Tens. She is also the top-selling female performer in total album sales in the United States with over 71 million according the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America.) Barbra Streisand is the only recording artist to have achieved Number One albums in five consecutive decades.

Congratulations on your #4 Billboard debut with your What Matters Most album. Like many others on this site, I also have listened to this album every single day since it was released and discover new moments which move me and thrill me each time. The voice ... so perfected and nuanced over decades and still haunting and intimate. To hear the breath before each line ... the phrasing of words in unexpected and unusual ways. It still brings goosebumps. What is it about that voice that sets it so high above all the others? Impossible to pin down but uninhibited passion comes to mind. In a time when singing is either mechanical or simply just loud, here is The Voice back again to entertain us and to remind us that we are experiencing nothing less than the vocal equivalent of Mozart in our time. True genius. Thank you Barbra.

There is nothing in this world that Barbra can not achieve through her efforts. She is loved by millions and I have loved her from the very start. I love to sing her music but can't keep up with her, but I still love to sing her songs. When I go fishing and listen to her music I always catch fish.

What a tremendous achievement for an artist who has remained not only "relevant" but true to her craft for 5 decades. Eventually, the only records Barbra will break will be her own! No one in the industry compares. Barbra is truly the most celebrated entertainer in modern history- and will continue to thrive.
I have listened to "What Matters Most" many times now, and it only gets better and better; something familiar with most anything Barbra does.
I can't remember a time in my life without Barbra. I was a mere child when I took note and fell in love with her music and films, and now, at 46, I am still in awe of her unsurpassed talent and achievements!
Stay strong Barbra! You are indeed a "work in progress" that we simply can't get enough of. With a new movie, new album, and the anticipated revival of "Gypsy" for the screen, we have so much to look forward to.

It's great that the new album is yet another commercial success, but I'm quite sure the real reward for Barbra is the finished project; one of her more personal labors of love. What amazes me about this new one (besides her exquisite voice of course) is that Barbra not only executive produced it, but does it all; from the actual recording in her own studio down to the artwork and liner notes at her home! Oprah ain't got nothin' on Babs!

Congratulation for this wonderful album which I am listening everyday since it was released. I love this album and all the songs warmed my heart and my soul. I am your fan from Taipei, Taiwan, and now I am working in Santo Domingo, Dominica Republic, and I'd like to say thank you for your songs which are as my good friends who are always there during many lonely moments in my life. This album is one of your best Barbra. The emotions that come through, after losing my mother in March and my baby dog in May, your voice always gets me through. I absolutely love you, thank you for always being there.

I love this album it feels my days with joy and not to be so dam Depressed anymore about this Economy!!! Thank you Barbara for another wonderful and Amazing Album!!! Thanks to your Friends Alan and Marilyn Bergman for gving these lyrics for you to sing!!! My Fav is Track is #9. I'll never say Goodbye!!! It is Amazing song, but the whole album is amazing to me!!! Just another Question When is the next album coming out? LOL I know right you just Released this album i just can't get enough!!!
