I refreshed my screen and lost eveything that I wrote!!! screamm!!!! My mother adored you and was thrilled when we all went to see Evergreen. I have always been a fan- and I admired your determination to make it in a very tough business- i doubt that could happen today.. I love the evolution of the broadway play in which they created Fanny based on you a - 19 yr old girl who ended up carrying the whole show.. I was sad to realize that singing is far from a passion..and more of a chore..since acting was your love-..to discover an amazing talent that bought you the ticket to write, produce and star in-have creative control- and to have so many people that adore this talent...it was as surprising to me as it was to Oprah that singing was more of a chore than anything else-that you never listen to your music after it is released... how ever selfish it may seem , I am so happy that you still made albums etc in spite of your feelings- that along with stage fright must have made it a nightmare...I understand the arogance of those who will get the best seats and act as if you should serve thema nd they donnot clap- which is why it would be just as easy to gaze far beyond them to your true fan base...however annoying it may be for you we , your fans , love your voice and are thankful that you never listened to the idiots to change your nose! what is wrong with it anyways!..You have said you think you could have been a better mother-coming from a person who feels it is the most important role-although the industry might have made it more difficult-we all can look back and wish we could have done better- and your passion for food cracks me up- I am gald that you fnally found a man to love and share dreams with- I think many men were just too intimidated.. Your style and your comedic timing is unparrelled- the world would have lost much without your talents and i will never take it away from you, which is why I am amazed you are so narrowminded on your political views- yes I know who influenced you as a young woman, but looking back at what the Jewish people have endured it amazes me that you cannot see what is happening.. and i am independent- i don't care if someone is republican, democratic, libertarian or whatever-as long as they are an American first..This is the first time in my life that i fear, truly fear for this country that I know you love as well.. our entire economy is surreal- we are the only country that can print currency, and although we have done so in the past..we actually used our own money then.. we have billionaires pulling out of us stock, china buying up manhattan, a military that is being neglected while we give pakistan 200 million for what! People that hate us..while Israel is being ignored.. an emabassey left unprotected that asked for help...one that was well respected there, raped and he was dead beaten body dragged through the street- a dad of young children, we have homeland security bought up 500billion rounds of .223 casings and hollow point bullets, fema camps being resurrected and the president wants driones to be able to kill american citizens when he says with no trial..we have nothing being done to secure the borders, bring industry back here or stop China from stealing technology and selling it as there own, we want to wage a war on legal gunowners when secret service admits he has never arrested a legal gun owner and doesn't know anyone who has, we have ted nugent being harrassed because of his first amendment rights and we are saying guns kill so many, when hospitals kill 10 times more and cost us billions and billions of dollars from infections spreading- and I know heatth care isa passion of yours-womens heart issues and I thank you for everything and I will stop because I could go on and on, I know that politics and you spend time on the computer exploring these issues- I hope 5 yrs from now i can (and will) beg for forgiveness if this is all wrong, but I have cildren that deserve a future and I actually feel gulity bringing them into a world that could get very ugly very soon. You donot have to agree with me and i am sure you don't. I hope that you will step back and look at the bigger picture and if you know something i donot that could make me feel better-please feel free to share. My nephew told me , well he inherited the housing mess and indeed he did, from jimmy carter who passed it and it escalated under Clinton, whom i voted for the first time(wish my son didn't learn in grade school what a bj is becasue of him) and i would have voted for mrc. Clinton if for no other reason than to get our silverware back! Now the president wantsd to bring back the CRA act- really? I also want to know how they can take all of these lavish trips whane someone is losing a home every 8 minutes.. I know it sounds weird ,but I had sleepless nights,I know her stage fright,the expectation,the big audience.I was anxious,prayed to help her survive.
Now after a couple hours of sleep.I just thought."I don't want compare,i don't want defend her,i don't want to criticize,say good or bad things..
I am simply,deeply in my heart proud,thankful,,satisfied and happy.that she is still there,I want to enjoy everything,as longest as last.

Watched the Oscars last night... amidst the crassness the real thing stands out. Thank you Barbra.

She was emotionally bright as always at the Oscar event, her voice and the remembrance of her friend Marvin Hamlisch performing "The Way We Were" song ,Memorable.

I overheard my dad say many years ago (18) prior to his death 'there is NO greater talent than that woman' - this was in a conversation my parents were having with their friends about Barbra Streisand when I walked in. She has given this world something no other could. This really is a treat for the world, seeing the greatest talent on Oscar Sunday. You are the best! Always will be...

I so excited to see her again on stage at the Oscar academy awards,bring to my mind so beautifull memories when a saw her last year in concert in Toronto,it was the most greatest moment of all time for me......and from here,my country,Venezuela,I wait to see her again on february 24..kissesss

My prediction for Barbra singing at the Academy Awards is, drum roll please, The Way We Were over the Memorial Sequence to honor all those who have passed especially Marvin Hamlisch, who, by the way, wrote that song and many more for the movies. We shall all wait and see. I hope I'm right. Love you Barbra and can't wait to see you sing, no matter what the song is going to be. PS I LOVE THE "RELEASE ME" ALBUM, it is like getting a Barbra Streisand Album from the 70's all over again. What an amazing woman you truly are.

I was lucky enough to see Barbra "live" twice last year (NY - 10/9, San Jose, CA - 11/7) and both times she was in absolutely OUTSTANDING voice.

Did I mention I can't wait.....

How exciting. I will definitely be watching.. this is a performance that will definitely not disappoint. She's an amazing singer since as far back as I can remember. I don't think there's any other singer even in her category. She's untoppable, simple as that. I can't wait to see this performance so this will prove to be an exciting evening for all. Looks like they have some great actors that will be up for the coveted award and of course the movies. They're all amazing.. I'm excited. Now that I know Barbra will be providing us with her voice, I will have a great party. Oscar parties are the best. We place bets on who will win... make Oscar drinks and food and make it a fun night.. so here's to you Barbra for making it an even more special evening with the stars.

I heard this amazing news on Thursday morning while watching Good Morning America. My heart skipped a beat.. I am so excited to see Barbra sing live on the Academy Awards. With Barbra Streisand in attendance now it is going to be a great show with a real star performing.

I am eagerly awaiting the date to see what Barbra will sing. Hope it is something from "Gypsy?" I saw the concert in Toronto in October. The "Gypsy" medley was definitely one of the highlights of the evening.

I will be so happy when the cameras start rolling. If anyone can do Rose justice and give an amazing performance it will be Barbra!!!
