Barbra, you are on my top ten list of heroines! Perfect award for you.
Love your music...that voice, and you are such a light! Beautiful person, just so real.
Today Facebook took me to Youtube (Grammy Awards 1978). I had forgotten about your stage fright. I too have stage fright. My leg shook so much when playing piano for parents' friends, that my foot fell off the damper pedal with a thud! Wish I had been as brave as you are, because secretly I wanted to be a performer too.
So, after YouTube search gave me nothing, came to your site searching for "My Pa" from MNIB1. That song helped me grieve my dad's leaving town due to divorce when I was 14...still does. It is precious to me. Your singing helped me so much. I wore that album out. The rest of album makes me smile ("Got No Strings"), sometimes laugh ("...an oyster!"), and, of course, must sing along. The high notes, though, come harder these days, but no one is listening so what the heck. It was so good to here it all again!
Thanks for posting the songs, and all you do. Cannot wait to hear the new CD! Never stop. You're an angel.
Hello!
Heard your voice once in my youth and it made such an impact that almost two decades later, I used youtube to begin listening to your songs ! Also was propelled to watch "Funny Girl".
Your voice is divine. Truly uplifting. May you continue singing for many more years!
