I thoroughly enjoyed the 82nd Academy Awards! Jeff Bridges, who co-stared with Ms. Streisand in “A Mirror has Two Faces” has always been one of my favorite actors and well deserving (and long over due) of an Academy Award for best actor. Ms. Streisand’s presence as the presenter for best director preserves these Academy Awards forever as an historic moment in entertainment history. Note that as I am writing this, I am sitting in front of a picture of Barbra Streisand presenting John Wayne with his only Academy Award for his portrayal of Rooster Cogburn in the movie “True Grit” and am listening to “The Making of the Broadway Album”. So, admittedly, I have a Streisand bias.

That being said, I too thought “The Prince of Tides” was one of the best movies of all time, well deserving of several Academy Awards, including Best Director for Ms. Streisand.

Barbra I have tears in my eyes...for you to be allowed by the Universe to witness this.....Your Best director Oscar is coming!

Your dream came true Barbra.... Academy stepping forward.... you said ot "the time is up"... K. Bigelow won the Oscar and what a honor to get it from your hands....wow you look wonderful, as usual...... your hands that are like "buttah" lol.... i sound like Linda Richman already..... Congrats... .Leandro from Florida

I havent watched the Academy Awards since Prince of Tides cause I was upset with the Academy....... Im watching this long ceremony cause I want to watch the American sweetest Heart,...... Please hurry Barbra....!!!!! you will look awesome Im sure

Well, I am one showing real devotion to Oscars evening, as here in Spain we watch them at 2 a.m. When the show finishes, then I go directly to work (take it like an Oscar party, *LOL*). Knowing Barbra will be there (and hopefully giving the Best Director award to a woman), I won't need any extra coffee to keep awaken all night long Smiling

Fabu
Bet she gives the award to the first woman director!!! Should have been you years ago Barbra!

I only watch The Academy Awards when I think it will involve Barbra so I will for sure watch! I can't wait! I love you Barb! Smiling

Thats the way it has to be..... the Academy Awards shouldnt exist without Barbra.... by the way I havent watched them in so many years cause of that....... I will change my plans for the weekend so I can watch the Oscars.... It looks like the Academy is changing,.... I stopped watching the Oscar since "Prince of Tides", I got very mad at the Academy since they gave the movie 7 nominations and they didnt give Barbra a nomination for Best Director..... That was ridiculous, my question is "did Prince of Tides" direct itself??? I dont like to live in the past but the Academy is doing a big step forward now, healing their own mistakes..... Congrats Barbra,!!!! Come on girl... Blessings for you, Renata and Samantha,.... PS: Please hurry with the book.. I cant wait... Your faithful fan, Leandro from Florida....
