Barbra on the passing of Allison J. Waldman.

I was very saddened to hear of Allison Waldman's passing Monday. She had been struggling bravely for many years to beat cancer.

I knew Allison over the years as a very good writer and a kind and loyal fan of mine who created and wrote "The Barbra Files" magazine and "The Barbra Streisand Scrapbook"... she was always wonderful to me. She was dedicated to the accuracy of the news she conveyed, and she shaped her stories with great style.

I was so happy to finally get to meet Allison at my Brooklyn concert this past Fall and to be able to thank her personally for her encouragement and dedication.

I extend to her family and friends my heartfelt sympathies. She will be certainly missed by all of us.

Barbra Streisand.

My dear Ms Streisand,

I certainly feel for you as I have in the last two weeks lost eight of my dear friends, young and aged, plus a second cousin. I would very much for us to be able to converse about our losses. I know there have been many tears of love shed. Prayerfuly I shall hear from you. Sincerely a fan...

I had the distinct pleasure of sitting next to Allison's escort at the Brooklyn Concert Opening Night. Allison had been moved to a select seat very close to the front. Her escort and I talked about Allison and how excited she was to meet Barbra for the first time that night. He was texting her throughout the concert. As an avid Barbra fan, I was quite familiar with who Allison was. I was so saddened to read of her passing, I was so glad she was able to live one her many dreams that night in Brooklyn, That evening her friend never indicated how ill Allison was. She was truly an inspiration to all us fans.

Barbra, thanks for reminding us that dreams do come true and you are as thoughtful and kind as we all imagine.

A beautiful tribute to Allison:

Barbra,

I didn't know Ally personally, but I've been following her Sunday chats for over a year now. As I mentioned over at her youtube channel, I found out about her sad passing by reading your post. I can't help but think she would be tickled to know that so many of us got the news directly from you, considering how often she was the one to offer breaking Barbra news to the rest of us. Rest in peace, Ally.

Barbra,
With these words, you have shown many people a side of you that they may not often see, yet it is the side of you I, and others like me, see everytime we watch, listen to, or read about you. It may help explain why I have loved you as I have these past 50 years.
I had the distinct honor of knowing Allison and of calling her my friend for just shy of 20 years. She was one of the most generous, compassionate, and loving human beings I have had the pleasure of knowing. Her knowledge of, passion for, and dedication to you is unparalled. And, how she delighted in sharing her passion for all things Barbra with the rest of us. Your tribute would have meant the world to Allison; and, it means the world to all of us who knew and loved her, as well.
And, then today, the flowers were delivered from you and from Marty. Words are inadequate to express the depth and breadth of the appreciation I feel for you. You are a magnanemous human being, in a class all by yourself. As much as I have loved you over these many years, I have never before loved you or have I had more respect for you than I do in this moment.
Allison is surely looking down from heaven at all that you have said and done in tribute to her, and being absolutely beside herself. She surely is kvelling from head to toe.
Thank you Barbra.
With much love and a tremendous amount of respect,
Linda Goldstone

Bonjour Barbara,

Tu es une des chanteuses à voix que j'adore. Je trouve que tu as une voix sublime et personne ne peut t'égaler. Lorsque j'écoute tes chansons j'ai des frisons dans tous le corps.

Dommage que l'on te voit moins.

Dear Barbra,
Thank you for these beautiful words. I am so glad the two of you met last fall. If I had any shadow of a doubt of your sincerity toward your fans, that doubt disappeared upon reading this. It speaks to all of us.

Oh boy I am blown away with this news about Allison. I just visited her site to see what everyone was saying about Barbra's new tour dates. This is unusual because I did not ever visit it before. I knew about it but have not partisipated on the site. Why today did I go there? Then only to come here to see the news...WOW! I met Allison after the 2000 concert when we all gathered in NYC for a Barbra reunion. Allison was a driving force in making this a very memorable weekend for all of us. I met her again at the book signing before the Brooklyn concert along with a bunch of Barbra friends. Allison was at this point hoping to meet Barbra and give her a copy of her latest book.

I held a copy of her book in my hands for a long time and made a request that her dream would come true. I secretly wondered how my story had not been included amung the others but figured my Barbra stories would take up the whole book not just one page. LOL

Later after the concert was over I happened to see Allison being escorted back by Marty to meet Barbra. She had the grandest smile on her face, as did I because when it comes to Barbra fans we support each others dreams with all our hearts. I yelled Allison's name, gave her a huge wave and took her picture figuring at some point we would meet again and she would want a photo record of her dream coming true.
Yes, for sure Barbra she will be missed so much!

Again, the message is MAKE IT COUNT! Allison did, she lived her life on her terms. You Barbra have taught all of us how to live this way. Thank you Allison and Barbra for your wonderful examples of living life to the fullest. Love to you both!

PS I will see you Barbra at some of your upcoming concerts. I guess I will be attending in memory of Allison and I am sure she will be joining us in Spirit!

It's been such a bad month for me! It started with the cancellation of the Paris concert and now the end of the "Sundays with Ally".
Ally, you were the link between Barbra and us.I'll miss the sound of your voice and your smile.

Well done, Barbra. I am sure your words mean a great deal to her family.

Allison was such a nice lady and I'm sure she's thrilled in heaven by your lovely tribute, Barbra.

I always enjoyed Allison's You tube posts and she was a wealth of knowledge for all Barbra fans. So lovely of Barbra to convey her condolences, which speaks volumes of the lady she is. We can take solace in knowing that Allison is no longer in pain. God Bless.

Barbra I met Allison in Brooklyn also at the book signing that she gave to you after the concert. I am on page 122 and was honored that Allison included my story in her book Barbra Memories.

I too would like to express my sincere heartfelt sympathy to Allison's family and many friends. Her Sunday pod cast; Sunday's with Ally, will be missed.

I had the pleasure of meet Ally, on October 13, 2012, in the New York subway when we were on the way to the “Back to Brooklyn” concert, and I can say that there are few times in life when you meet a being who emanating so much joy and joie de vivre as it was Allison Waldman.

I believe that by following so closely to miss Streisand, she managed to convey her teachings to many parts of the world as it did with me.

I think her departure invite us to reflect on the really important things in life such as inner peace, joy and, above all, what we are leaving to the others when we leave this earth.

Sincerely,

Barbra,

I appreciate your posting about Allison.
Because our interest in your career she and I met 30 years ago.
We talked about you and what you meant to her during her last days in ICU. Ironically during our last talk Oridinary Miracles was playing.
When I first met Allison she was in NYC and I was in college in a small town in Arkansas. Ironically we both ended up in Florida a few miles apart. Our almost nightly phone calls were a highlight of my day.

I will miss the insights she provided as a Barbra historian. But what I will miss most is her passion for politics and her friendship. Allison always wanted to talk politics one day with you.

Ironically a distant relative of yours Dr, Streisand was one of her doctors at the end.

With regards -

John MacEachron

Such sincere praise for Ally. She will be sadly missed. I was hoping to meet her when I go to Florida next year, but, I guess God wanted to meet her more.

It was great being a part of "Barbra Memories". Ally was so excited about this book...and she made everyone just a excited. I'm so glad she got to meet you. She talked of you with such passion and purpose. If you ever saw her Youtube videos, "Sunday With Ally", you would see the enthusiasm and joy in her face. She was your biggest fan.

She had a great smile, even towards the end, when she was, undoubtedly, very sick.

Will miss her every week.

Regards,

Marie Johnstone

Barbra, that was a beautiful sentiment. Allison always held you in the highest regard, and like a dog with a bone, would never allow anything negative to be said about you. After we saw "Main Event" together -- in the multiplex, way back when -- I told her I didn't particularly like it, and ... she cried! That's the way it was. She adored you, and would never even consider any other possibility. However you touched her, it was forever and for always. Thank you!

Barbra, I am not sure you could imagine how happy Allison would have been to have you mention and honor her with your kind remembrance and "memoriam"...it would have made her feel like one of the "luckiest people in the world"...if you take the time to watch an episode or two or three of Sundays with Ally, you would see just how much you meant to her..and us, her/your followers. I never got to meet her in person, but communicated many times with her during the Barbra Memories book honoring your 50th year in the business...(I was one of the lucky ones who made the book, Page 85)....My brother Kevin went to pick it up because I was on vacation with my parents and wasn't able to make it in time...he got such a kick out of meeting her, and was so upset when he called to tell me he saw on FB that she had passed away. Barbra THANK YOU for honoring Ally...she adored you and you're right, never wrote anything about you that she didn't think was true. BTW, she promised us that your next movie was going to be GYPSY and that the announcement would come sometime in April...she insisted and said "she lay money on it"..."it is a given"...even when some were doubting...please make her and our wish come true...GYPSY is next!!! Love to you Barbra...GERARD KING

You should view some of the Sundays with Ally on You Tube. She was our Barbra guru. Myself being a Barbra fanatic for 44 yrs. She knew you inside and out and was delighted to share you with all of us. Every Sunday I could not wait to watch Sundays with Ally and she did it until 2 weeks before her passing, bald and week. She took pleasure in informing ALL your fans on all things Barbra. I know you can''t possibly KNOW what you mean to your fans. It was a pleasure following Allison and her passion....YOU!!!!! ALL your fans feel the same way. You are kind, talented beyond belief, honest, and most of all, a class act

Thank you, Barbra. Your words are so very comforting regarding Ally at this very difficult time regarding our feelings and love for Ally and her love for you!

Very heartfelt. Thank you so much!

Her soul is soaring now through Barbra's notes.

I am so sad to hear this news. Ally and I only shared words a few times, but I felt a warm closeness to her. I looked forward to her weekly podcasts. I was very excited to learn from Ally that I would have a place in the 'Barbra Memories' book. How sweet! I kept my fingers crossed and was thrilled to hear that Ally made it to Brooklyn and was able to present Barbra with this special book in person. I'm sure Ally was totally verklempt and that it was one of the biggest highlights in Ally's life. She loved and admired Barbra. My deepest sympathy to Ally's husband, whom I know she loved and admired just as much. My thoughts go out to all who have lost this very special and lovely person.

It is so sad to hear about Allison. I looked forward to "Sunday With Ally" every week. She was a truly sincere, respectful, committed, and loyal fan. I have enjoyed following Barbra's career for years, and Allison was always dependable when so much that's been published about Barbra is rarely true. Ally knew that the truth is always more interesting. She was very protective of Barbra. I don't know if Allison knew how ill she was when she went to Brooklyn; but knowing that she was able to meet her hero and how kind Barbra was to her on that visit brings tears to my eyes. Thank you Ms. Streisand for recognizing Allison's selfless dedication to your fascinating career. My condolences to Allison's husband and family. Rest in Peace, Allison..You will be missed.

Barbra

I could not possibly have more respect or admiration for you than I do at this time. Today, I can finally smile amid the tears.

You are a class act - this is just beautiful.

Thank you!

Dear Barbra, Thank you so much for your kind recognition of Allison's passing. She was one who you could really call your "biggest fans" in the world. Allison diligently sought & reported "the truth" about you & your work in many media for many years. She spent the major part of the last year of her life lovingly preparing & publishing "Barbra Memories", which she presented to you as a gift for your 50th anniversary, when you met in NY in October. I was thrilled to be a part of that project (p 58) with my Toy Poodles. Allison was a delight to work with & to finally meet myself in NY.

I know that your special memories of Allison Wald would a be a lifetime treasure. Certainly her meeting her in October & acknowledging her work was! Many of the serious fans of Barbra Streisand will sincerely miss Ally. Her articles, her weekly YouTube broadcast, "Sundays With Ally", her participation on the Streisand forum became a part of our lives. Again, thank you - for everything you do.

Sincerely,

Linda Robinson

Sad, very sad I am.
Ally was a special web friend, and a force for Barbra's conquers in the internet days.
I love her book Barbra Streisand Scrapbook.
I asked her to send me the other book, Between The Grooves, she even wrote to me to say she had received the order from Ebay, but didn't have time to post me the book.
Her last word were:

"Thanks for your note, Nando. I will do more LPs and stuff in the weeks ahead.
Just got the order for Between the Grooves. Will order it from the printer today and send it within the week, okay?
Thanks again, sweetie!
Ally"

I don't care about the money, I wanted her in her video casts, in her books, her presence.
I gonna miss her. I really will.
God bless her there at his side.

Beautiful words.

Love.
