Re: A letter from far away..
Hi, my name is Valerie and i'm greek-italian,i'm 16 year old and i'm going to an American school here in Greece. When i was 11 i had a conversation with my grandfather(he is a journalist,( i adore him) and he had written many articles about you Barbra) we started talking about music and he told me about you, i knew you because i was always a kid who prefers older artists such as Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Ray Charles etc..so i was curious about your songs so the next day i went to a store and i bought two cds. I fell in love with your voice and your talent. After that ,i watched some of your films. You were the one who taught me how to be strong in difficulties and how to move on. I'm only 16 year old and i've been through many problems in my family, i lost some persons that i loved very much. You inspired me and you will always be in my heart. You made your dreams come true and i want to make my dreams come true too. Life is short so we must LIVE and Never give up..
Perhaps you won't read it because you have billions of fans who write you every single day but its ok. I'd like to thank you and i want you to know that i will always be on your side...
Re: Barbra on "The Doctors".
I look forward to watching this episode of "The Doctors." I believe that heart disease is still the number one killer of women, so it is an important issue to address. Thank you for letting us know when the show will air!!
Re: Barbra on "The Doctors".
If anyone in the US sees this, could you write up a post about it, especially if they mention anything to do with patients suffering heart failure.
My Mother was taken into hospital a few months ago with a terrible chest infection. While there, they noted the problem with her heart, something we were led to believe was a valve problem. When I spoke to the Doctor about her condition, he told told me she suffers from 'Heart Failure' I thought this was a heart attack - but it isn't, nor does it mean the heart will simply 'stop' but, apparently, it is the cause of lack of energy and being breathless. Apparently she is classed as a 'risk' for most operations too.
It worries me as I wonder if this means she can't undergo any heart op that may help her, or any op she may need. She is 70.
I wonder what can be done to help someone suffering this condition. They told us to watch her salt intake for instance. My Mom doesn't smoke either, although she is over weight due to medications she must take. Can her children 'inherit' heart problems?
If any of this comes up - and someone can relate what was said - that would be great.
Thanks
Lynne
