I just saw the Brooklyn concert and it brought a lot of memories, joys and tears.
When we left Cuba we went to Brooklyn where we had family there. We were very poor because we had to leave all our worldly possession in Cuba.. However, we loved music and through hard work my dad bought me a transistor radio and the first song that we heard when we turned on the transistor radio was PEOPLE. We used to call my dad "PIPO" (PeePO) and he did not speak too much English so he could not understand the words but he heard you sing "People, People who need People" and he thought you were singing to him and that you were saying "Peepo, Peepo, who need PeePo" It was so funny, I knew better but I let him believe thaI you were saying Peepo and when we bought our first record player the first 45 we bought was "Peepo"
The Brooklyn concert brought all those memories back and I thank you. I now live in South Florida. I hope you have another concert here I will not miss it.
Thanks for such good memories and hope to hear from you
I want to thank you for the many years that you have entertained us, whether thru movies, theatre or concerts- your dedication is amazing and veryy appreciated- I hope someday we could meat and I have not felt that about anyone! Thanks for your contribution to heart disease in woman...Thank you for sharing your talent and I look forward to many more years ahead..!
I had the wonderful opportunity to see "Back to Brooklyn" on PBS and contribute to UNC.TV and receive the DVD/CD of the concert. Along with being from Long Island, Floral Park that is, I was in the company of a former student of ERASMUS High School and the daughter of your former music teacher, Cosimo DePietto.
I can't begin to tell you how moving it was for her to hear in your reflections of Brooklyn, the mention of ERASMUS. I also had the opportunity to attend a Christmas concert at ERASMUS in 1959 (ugh) when my friend Carole "D" was in the chorus.
From both Carole and I, the joy of your voice and music selections in "Back to Brooklyn" were amazing and most enjoyable. You are and should be most proud of your son Jason. The joy of singing with him was most evident and so very moving.
May your NEW YEAR be as rewarding as last year was.

Finally airing on regional PBS: I'm obviously a fan or I wouldn't be watching. My reason to post is to thank you, Ms. Streisand, for your decision to grant broadcast rights to PBS. I appreciate your consistent advocacy in promoting intelligent opportunities for the general public. Much respect.
My Dear Barbra

In addition to the PBS special, I've watched the DVD every night since the day it came out and simply CAN NOT get enough of you and your PHENOMENAL performance!!! As many times as I got to see this show throughout North America and Europe, I STILL get goose-bumps EVERY time I watch it! You are just MAGICAL, and watching you perform UP CLOSE on TV is a sight and experience to behold!!!! (...plus watching you sing with Jason brings tears to my eyes every night! Your GORGEOUS voices blending together makes me MELT!) Thank you SOOO MUCH for another "BARBRA TREASURE" to cherish for the rest of my life!!!!! I wish there was a way to convey to you how much JOY and INCREDIBLE HAPPINESS you have brought to me and to the world, but that amount is IMMEASURABLE.....

DVDed and watched it last night. Loved it, your songs, and you!! You have such a beautiful voice, an intelligent mind, and a shana punim (a pretty face!!)
Love you being you!!
It can accurately be reported that the DVD/CD officially hit #1 on Amazon.com Bestseller list for Vocalists/Broadway category. Still #1 at 71! Congrats, Barbra and the gang!
Back to Barbra is what I thought, I just happened to turn on tv and there it was and watched the entire show even through all the talking. I was fortunate enough to see you at the US Air Arena in Maryland, and I kept remembering that and it was pleasurable and wonderful to have had that experience that I will never forget for my life, was going through my photo album showing a friend all the news clippings I kept, one was where you were eating salad with your fingers when you and all the staff went out for steaks, I thought so what, if you eat a salad with your fingers! How ridiculous the media can be. But it was great to see you again last night, an incredible concert and beautiful as always, and with your son, he is so yummy, so good looking, loved that part, seeing all the pictures of you and him, so much love in each of your hearts, so nice.
I also saw the Back To Brooklyn concert tonight on PBS. All her concerts have been outstanding, but this one - it was the best. Barbra was so in touch with the audience that I felt the connection at home watching it. She was absolutely genuine. With each song, I really felt like she wanted to convey a story to the people, and she did so which such beauty.
She made a comment like "The wise man plants the tree which shade he will never sit under" - and I thought "If only all of the world could understand the implications of such a simple concept" - not just a tree, but those all those that take from the world could find the heart to start giving back to it for the sake of our children's grandchildren. So profound!
I know people tend to stop while they are on top, but she's got a lot more to give before that time. I hope she knows it. The best part of her son being on that seat with her was the connection between them. They really adore each other and it showed.
Thank you Barbra - it was magical
BARBRA I HOPE YOU READ SOME OF THESE COMMENTS, ANYWAY I JUST WATCHED YOUR SHOW BACK TO BROOKLYN. ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!! YOU LOOKED STUNNING, AND YOUR VOICE IS MAGNIFICENT. IT'S OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THROUGH THE YEARS YOU HAVE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF YOUR VOICE. YOU CAN SEE HOW MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE YOU ARE NOW WITH THE AUDIENCE WHEN YOU PERFORM. IT'S GREAT TO SEE!! I WAS 8 YEARS OLD WHEN I 1ST SAW FUNNY GIRL, WITH MY MOTHER AND I HAVE BEEN A HUGE FAN EVER SINCE. TOGETHER WE HAVE SEEN EVERY MOVIE YOU HAVE EVER MADE. SHE RECENTLY PASSED AWAY. I WILL MISS NOT BEING ABLE TO GO SEE YOUR MOVIES OR LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC WITH HER ANY LONGER. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE YEARS OF GREAT ENTERTAINMENT. ANYTIME I LISTEN TO YOU SING IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD. THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE.
