This is quintesential Streisand. I loved her this entire decade. She's showing a new level of herself and I'm thrilled to see it.

I saw Barbra in concert in Boston in 2006, and she, more than any performer I have ever seen live, brilliantly orchestrated her performance so that she, at her age, could expend her energy throughout her performance with breathtaking endurance. I loved how she opened Act I with a ballad and gradually built her performance towards her Act I crescendo. When she came back for Act II, her musical drive empowered her all the way to the explosive grand finale and encores. Aside from the thrill of seeing Barbra in concert, she is a performer with an amazing reserve that seems boundless even as she approaches her 70th birthday, April 24. Her talents are a gift from God, and Barbra is the most sublime gift, which she, in turn, gives to us patrons of her art.

On another note, my gorgeous standard poodle, Callie, is at her most serene when I play Mozart or Barbra Streisand. Here she's imitating her posture, wanting so much to understand every lyric!

So, I go to a smaller chain distributor of music and concert DVDs` here on Central Park West. As usual I walk in and announce, "I`m here for Streisands latest". Pardon the reference. I was handed this DVD collection. I asked the clerk if he was sure this was indeed the latest CD. "Oh yeah, I shelved it myself". Needless to say, he was mistaken.
When I got back to my Condo, a few friends and I are ready to hear. How can you not gather with a new release from Barbra Streisand? It keeps me young. Like buying the latest CD she released in the 1980`s when I was first endeared. Anyway, much to my Surprise, it`s three DVDs!!! The 1996 Tour, The 1993 - 94 return Concert Tour, and "The Making of the Broadway Album", AND ADDIDTIONAL TV appearances by Ms. Streisand. I attended both these shows in NYC and London. But to have it at home, on a Autumn evening, in a condo overlooking Central Park, with a glass of red wine, and few good friends - absolutely the next best thing. I haven`t gotten through all DVDs yet!
The designer of this packaging knew how to impress. And I`m now watching these former VHS performances on DVD in Surround Sound as well.
I hope your local retailer makes this mistake. This is enterainment for many evenings, many friends, many years.

I have this DVD that I keep in my heart, because I had the privilege to watch it live on their tour in Paris. I finally got to see it my great idol. kisses my great and beloved barbra.

She seldom speaks of receiving love and than giving back love. I also enjoyed The Woman in the Moon on the bonus feature. That was somethig that was old but new. She did start to get her bounce on. I look forward to possible concerts in 2012 for democratic fundraisers. Maybe in New Jersy at the Prudential Center.
