Reviews for this Album

It goes without saying that Streisand and Gibb make a fine vocal pairing. Barry's music seems to uplift and empower Barbra's voice. This is a fine representation of a new style which Barbra seems to be embracing - jazz. Being an enormous jazz fan, this has been one of the most enjoyable albums to listen to.

I too love this cd. This up beat, up tempo music is refreshing and never tiring. I listen to this cd in my car daily....still. Love "Come Tomorrow", "Hideaway" (one of her best songs ever!), "Above the law" and others and yes "Letting go" is simply beautiful. Barry Gibb said it best, "There are the ten greatest female vocalists in the world and then there is Barbra Streisand." What must it be like to be the greatest singer of all? There's one person who knows......Barbra.

Just say i love this C.D thank u Barbra Smiling

Barbra's return to working with the Bee Gee's Barry Gibb was a wonderful surprise and a true gift her millions of fans who loved the original "Guilty" from 1980. How do you maintain the level of quality of the music from "Guilty" like "Woman in Love" or "The Love Inside?" What a fantastic CD this is! Right from the start with "Come Tomorrow" and it's doo-wop beat ... you never know what Barbra will try next to treat her fans. And the beautiful "Hideaway" is one of the best songs she has recorded in decades: hats off to Barry Gibb for writing such an excellent melody and creative lyrics. It's all great stuff and I've been listening to it since it came out in 2005. It does not get tiring ... just like all of Barbra's work ... fresh as if you're hearing it for the first time.

Barbra Streisand brings all the power and passion of her artistry to "Guilty Pleasures".

This is Barbra's second collaboration with Barry Gibb. The duo has lost none of the fire they ignited with "Guilty". Gibb's melodic tunes give Streisand an ideal launching pad for her soaring voice.

The perfect example of matching singer and song is "Stranger In A Strange Land", the video of which is included in the Dual Disc version of this collection. Barbra has recorded many "message" songs in her long career...such as "Little Tin Soldier", "Be Aware", "One Day", and "Ordinary Miracles", to name a few. This video, in the same vein, is brilliant in its execution. The images of soldiers leaving for the unknown experiences that await them, their loneliness thousands of miles away from home, and finally their exultant reunions with loved ones compassionately portray the sacrifices brave men and women make when their country calls. These heartrending scenes are matched by Barbra's glorious voice.

The CD entertains you with beautiful ballads, up-tempo melodies, even a disco tune! Then you get to the last song, and your heart stops. Barbra does what many of her fans have been waiting years for...sings a stunning song, "Letting Go", with just a piano accompaniment. The purity of the Streisand sound makes you remember why she is in a league of her own. After decades of listening to Barbra's vocal gifts, we sometimes take her for granted. "Letting Go" makes us sit up and realize that this is the greatest vocal instrument in the world, and we are privileged that she continues to produce work of this quality.-Joseph Marzullo & Anthony Regina
