What a joy and great pleasure
What a joy and great pleasure to suddenly discover Barbra Streisand amongst the already illustrious crowd singing "We Are The World"! That's all that counts, really.
Much joy to whoever reads this!

We Are The World
Barbra's contribution to the already classic is fantastic. I always wondered why she wasn't in the first recording, but am thrilled that she decided to do this new version. Her presence makes the whole event worth while and it is just incredible to see her in that group of singers. Her "being there" brought out the best in every other performer. What a great story those who stood next to her will have to tell, how luck can you get!!!
The Truth About We Are The World
I really enjoyed We Are The World the past two nights on the Olympics. Barbra's contribution was spot-on. 1-4 takes sounds like she wants to get it right. She's the most consummate artist of our time. "There's a choice she's making" -- that of giving back to people everywhere. Visit the Streisand Foundation to see how she is making a difference for women and children right here in the USA! Her music touches millions of lives all over the world, with the deepest, most profound of human emotions.
So "take that," critics everywhere!!
Don't worry Barb none of that
Don't worry Barb none of that matters. We don't care how many times you did takes the point is we know you did your best and you contributed.
I could scream!!
Can't the press just be pleased that Barbra and so many others came together to make this record happen?
If Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie believed that Barbra would be a handful, then they would never have asked her.
It reminds me of when Barbra spoke about not being asked to perform for the 9/11 telethon and then later sang at the 2002 Emmy's, I wonder whether this so-called reputation that has been concocted has caused producers not to approach her to participate because they fear she will want to control everything and everyone, when the truth is that if her name is on the bill, she will pull her her legions of fans (us!) and support her and the cause she is representing. Her 2006/07 concerts proved that, as does the 'Love' album.

Re: The Truth About The "We Are The World Recording".
Anyone on the planet earth who knows anything about the incomparable Barbra Streisand knows that she is a perfectionist. She insisted on doing "My Man" live at the end of the "Funny Girl" movie and provided one of the most extraordinary movie moments of all time. Those who still have a need to knock down an American treasure with a career spanning five decades is just a loser who will probably accomplish nothing in life due to their own dooming negativity. The soul, the essence, the unique gift that is Barbra Streisand (like sand on the beach) has so affected my life from my own beginnings in the Bronx right up to the present, through life, and death, and challenges to overcome and adversity. We all have the choice of being a victim in life or victorious. You, Barbra, have been a true victorious inspiration to me and millions. Losers lose in the end. Truth, as you have said, is a powerful tool that comes out eventually. Thank you for being YOU. Now, please go write your autobiography (you know your loser critics will have a field day with that book!)
