I am a fan since I am 12 years old and am now 59. I am just short 4 days of being ten years younger the Ms. Streisand.
I am a fan, because of Ms Streisands, beautiful artistry.. singing, acting, directing, producing writing. i am a fan because of her great causes and follow through on supporting these causes all of which I believe in too. i am a fan, because she is an activist.
i am a fan because all through my life, the familiarity and beauty and her soothing voice has given me a place to go, that is very personal and a haven for my soul. As a young shy child, who loved to sing and loved music.I saw her in the original cast of FunnyGirl and when she entered the movies, I identified with her and saw myself in her,.... and was totally taken by her presence.
I still have a place to go, listening to her sing, which is very personal and calms my soul...I see her films again and again and look forward to new ones, because I can get so focused and involved and leave behind my personal struggles.
And she fights for the things I believe in.
Her work has soothed, inspired and given me joy. Her work in the world has inspired me. Her honesty and privacy I admire.
All I can say I know you are a real person, with your own life and thanks for sharing you feelings and beliefs through music, acting, directing and your activism.

Dear Ms. Streisand, I am so happy you are setting this record straight. I knew that you were sincere without knowing the facts and when I spoke up for you, my friends said it was just my devotion to your work.
I know you have given a great deal to the LGBT community.... I used to identify mainly as a gay man. I also identify as transgender now, and have always, trusted the truth behind the scenes, even if I didn't know them. I'm glad you are setting the record straight. I admire your restraint, and I admire you speaking the truth.
