Barbra recently spoke to BroadwayWorld.com about her favorite Broadway Love Song:
"The first song that comes to mind is Rodgers & Hammerstein's "If I Loved You" from CAROUSEL. It's just about the most perfect love song written for the theater. I admire the intelligence of the lyric's premise -- two people each too shy to express their love, so they couch their true feelings in the form of a question, and then pretend it hardly matters...when of course they know it does. With its heart swelling melody, it never ceases to touch people. A few years ago during my last concert tour I loved singing Maury Yeston's "Unusual Way" from NINE. It's about those kinds of relationships where love isn't easily defined."

The song "If I Loved You" sung by Barbara-"through Barbara", I should say...is nothing less than perfection. And..you know what I would LOVE to see...Barbara Streisand working with the final contestants of American Idol. I've watched it for several years now, and always, always say that I still don't hear anyone with a voice like Barbara Streisand's. Then, looking at previous years, when stars would come in and work with the contestants and give them TRUE input...well, I would love to see Barbara do that. This year, 2010, there are a few of those contestants, as early as it is in the show, that would be so blessed by her input, guidance, work ethic,...and really, just HER...for the times we live in, for the future of deserving performers; it would be so inspirational.

"If I Loved You" is one of those songs that stays with you..
forever.. Rogers & Hammerstein's tunes have that effect..
Along with the many Barbra's Classics..
the melodies seem to always be right there waiting to be
easily accessible to hum along with to get you through..
Music is the greatest of gifts for us to experience in life..
And we are all fans.. of the greatest gift of all..
Barbra's sounds (frequencies) make this life experience
a most wonderful thing.. we are all most blessed for the experience..

Oh, yes, that taste! The emptiness of today's world... and one just lives for the people like this... who know how to fill that emptiness with beauty and sense and humanity.
If I loved you... that was allways my favorite from this outstanding artist.
If you read this, Mrs Streisand, I just have such a deep need to thank you for the meaning and the beauty you gave us through your voice.
I went to see you in Fort Lauderdaile and in Wien/Austria. After postponed concert we wawed to you from the balcony of the Schuenbrun castle... and you wawed back from your car. The concert the day after was one of those things...

I didn't know "Unusual Way" till Barbra sang it in her 2006 American concerts and since that moment it became one of my favorite songs. Then I could hear it alive in her concert in London 25/07.
Later I collected several versions but none of them is comparable to Barbra's.
It's not only her beautiful voice; I think is her intonation what make us feel the situation as real and probably it is.

I just heard it that song for the first time its beautiful.... To me the most beautiful song its from the same musical...."You will never walk alone" and who most beautifully performed it,... it was Barbra at the Grammys 2001......

I just listened to "If I Loved You" for the first time. I thought it was very beautiful. I wish there were more teenagers open to soft, easy, caring love songs. "Unusual Way" was a fabulous song. I didn't see you in concert, but I did buy the concert and loved it! Broadway is great Barb! That's where some of the best music is written.
