Ms. Streisand is correct. Republicans were also on the wrong side of the civil rights movement, Medicare, Social Security, just to mention a few struggles. As for the suggestion that she is lacking in credibility because she is a wealthy "Hollywood" star and because she doesn't "work" enough, that is so silly I am not sure where to begin.
She wasn't always rich. She lived in a coldwater flat in Brooklyn while she pursued her dreams. Through hard work, talent and perserverance, she made that dream come true beyond, perhaps, her own or anyone else's imaginings. She did this through HARD WORK. It is one thing to have the talent, it is another thing to push past every obstacle to express that talent: songwriting, acting, producing....and did the Prince of Tides direct itself!? I think not.
She is an American citizen and is entitled to communicate with other Americans. And when she speaks, many of us listen. If you choose not to listen, don't attack or demean the speaker, address the idea. Then we might listen to you, too.
Each year, The Streisand Foundation contributes to a wide variety of causes. Click the banner above for more information.
