In two editions of my book, "The Barbra Streisand Scrapbook" (Citadel), I have clarified this quote and said just what Barbra said in this Truth Alert.
She also wrote to Playboy in 1977 after the Larry Grobel interview to set the record straight about this 'unquote.'
For whatever reason, writers fail to find the truth sufficient and print this wrong Brooklyn information. It's annoying how it lives on.Allison J. Waldman

First of all, my dear fellow comment leavers, it's BARBRA -- no extra A! (This is Barbra's site. We have to spell her name correctly for goodness sake!)
This BBC Radio interview was superb. Barbra was relaxed, informative, funny and forthcoming. I hope "The Normal Heart" comes together. The Bergman CD sounds fantastic.Tovább »

Re: The Loew's Kings Theater in Brooklyn
"Dairy of Anne Frank" was the first Broadway show she saw. That was when she was 13.
When she was 13, she was also a regular visitor to the Loew's King movie theater on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn.
When she ushered on Broadway, it was for "The Sound of Music" at the Lunt-Fontaine Theater on West 46th Street.
