I must agree that women and men have always been measured by a different method. You make many good points and cite great examples. In practically any field one can find one situation after another where this is true. I consider this fact one based in history and sorely out of date. As more socially and politically conscious people, such as yourself, become more active on this front, things will change. Change is not an easy thing to maneuver as you know.
