Glitch on CD?

Glitch on CD?

Hi all...

I noticed a glitch (at least on my version) on the Quartet Version of Love Is The Answer. It's at the 3:50 point of Gentle Rain.

Does anyone else have this?

Thanks...

Greg

It sounds like guitar string rubbing to me (whatever you call it!)

I don't think it's a glitch.

Yes, 3.50.

Maybe they left it in to prove how "un-edited" (for lack of a better word) and unpolished the sound really is, and was meant to be, on this album? Barbra unplugged?

No glitch....just a finger sliding on strings...something we have seldom heard on a Streisand recording. On american club jazz recordings of the golden era you can hear the following: Fingers on strings, brushes on drums, glasses tinkling, people coughing and, of course, extraordinary music.

I would call this a jazz recording but it is really a Streisand recording in the jazz cabaret idiom. She always makes it something you have never heard before, and never will hear again. They broke the mold.

Hi...

I guess it's not a glitch, cause it's also in the same spot on the orchestral version. Even if it is a finger sliding... it's very annoying and invasive and ruins the mood of the song because it's so loud compared to the rest of the song!

It's a very typical sound when a guitar is involved. Just because I love guitar sound, it doesn't hurt my ear at all Laughing out loud
As someone wrote before, it's a kind quite unusual "noise" for a Barbra's album and I like this imperfection! Smiling

Definitely guitar string rub. It's also on during the intro of "One Less Bell" medley. Very common.
