Your Favorite Barbra Movie
What's Up Doc?
I think she's exquisite in this film. The fact that she is figuratively playing Bugs Bunny is amazing to me. That and she's never looked better on camera in my opinion.

Funny Girl is my favorite because it hooked me on to Barbra's singing. Also I have the same birthday as the real Fanny Brice.
"Funny Girl" has changed me !
Before I saw FG, I loved Barbra Streisand, after the movie
I was a new born Streisand maniac! LOL
Yentl, TWWW, Nuts, Sandbox...... and "The Mirror Has Two Faces!!!!
That last movie is underrated . IMO!!!
Best Werner
I'm really partial to Funny Girl because that movie turned me into a Barbra fan, but oh boy. I can watch Hello, Dolly nonstop and listen to the soundtrack for hours. It's just so fun.
So I guess a tie between Funny Girl and Hello, Dolly!
As an adult, I loved Nuts, great plot, great script and Barbra was just so beautiful. Then again, I really do love the majority of her films. I even purchased her television specials boxed set. Takes me back to my childhood when my dad was laying on the couch saying, "Wow, this girl is really great." He was a native New Yorker who came West. He is gone now, but Barbra can still bring back memories of him.
It is hard to choose exactly one.
I think she was quite amazing in Funny Girl. She definitely deserved that Oscar!
I thought she should have also won for The Way We Were. She was so great in that film with Robert Redford.
I also like her comedy side. I remember laughing at her facial expressions and crazy behaviour in What's Up Doc?.
Then again I enjoy seeing her sing on film...Yentl!!!!
A STAR IS BORN!!
I was younger when it came out and my parents wouldnt let me go and see it.
So I bought the book and convinced them that the book was much 'worse' than the movie so they should just let me see it. I wore them down!
I was obsessed with it. To this day I can sing along with the entire soundtrack word for word.
I even named my hamsters Barbara Striesand and Kris Kristofferson.
But I dearly love her early work too.
My babysitter used to sing along with all of her albums into a hairbrush to cheer us up after my parents divorce.
My parents actually saw her in New York on their honeymoon!
Her music, her comedy - everything about her was a great escape from a extremely troubling childhood and I cant thank her enough.
maybe this should have gone in the - why Im a fan section...
I recently watched for the first time "On a Clear day You Can See Forever" and loved it like of her older movies but my favorite of all is "The Mirror has Two Faces" because she is strong, intelligent but shows vulnerability, I think I have seen that movie some 20 times
Comedy: What's Up Doc
Musical: On A Clear Day You Can See Forever
Barbra finally recognized as an actress/ beautiful woman: The Way We Were
UP THE SANDBOX
Although my 'career' as fan started with 'Hello, Dolly!', this will always be my very favorite. Every scene, every dialogue is simply perfect. The most underrated Barbra movie ever.
I was so greatful when the DVD came out with personal comments ... thanks a lot!
''The Mirror Has Two Faces''
I love Rose Morgan so much, i love her style.
Sometimes, i think that, that movie teaches people to love themselves. It shows people, how to look beautiful, although their literature knowledge. And when i watched it, i thought ''My feelings are more important than my knowledge. I have to love myself.''
So, it is my movie. I love it so much.
I love most of Barbras films even the ones which were not well recieved critically like
" For petes sake" or " A star is born" as i always find there is some scene in the film where Barbra shines. She truely is one of the last great stars.
I love " Funny GIrl" and " Hello Dolly". I just love Dolly as she is so funny and comical in this . Many critics commented on her fine performance . Those who know their films will know that the fine critic Pauline Kael loved Barbra. She said she was an excellent comin actress and up there with the great comic actors such as Cary Grant and Mae West.
I loved " Yentl" as it had very interesting themes and a lovely moving performance by Barbra. I felt she was very convincing as a boy. I liked the " The mirror has two faces " and " The prince of tides" also.
Id love Barbra to be in the musical " Sunset Boulevard".

My favourite films are in this order
Yentl, Nuts, The Prince of Tides and The Mirror has two faces
In all them she has been as minimum director and actress and they had been created in the same order that I prefer them so that make me think that probably the next film that she selects direct will also be my favourite.
I don't like farandole world but in general I have come to like actors, good actors I mean, because to be credible in their rolls they have to be able to feel empathy.
I find admirable that she can take to good port a film but in my opinion one of Barbra biggest talent is the election not only of their films but also of the songs that she select to sing.
Overall I think she is a creator and as such maybe her next film will be based in her own script.
Yentl. Of course! And I have a story to tell: I saw the movie in 1984 with my younger brother. We both were truly thriller to attend because we listened the soundtrack once and once again those days. A little after, in November 1985, I became a Christian, and I started to get deeper into Jewish culture to understand more perfectly the Bible. Then, I started to study Theology, and it took seven years of my life. I felt like Yentl trying to understand God's word. That's why this movie means so much to me. Thank you, Barbra, for making it true!
The Mirror Has Two Faces was my first passion.
Tudo que Barbra faz é divino .
Right now it's Hello Dolly. I was reminded of it because of the movie Wall-e. I always thought it was a bit slow becuase I had always watched pieces of it on network television but had never watched the whole thing. This time I watched the DVD and it was GREAT. The best thing about Barbra's movies is that you can rediscover them every few years!
I think The Main Event with her and Ryan Oneal is fab! I love all her films though. I think I'm in a tie between The Mirror Has Two Faces, and The Main Event.
What's Up Doc, A Star Is Born, WWW, Prince of Tides, Yentl, Funny Girl, Funny Lady, Nuts,...... It's too hard! I LOVE them all.
This is hard, as it changes from time to time.
I enjoy any of Barbra's movies where she is given the chance to be funny. Her comic timing and abilties are brilliant! I love Mirror Has Two Faces and Fockers for instance. Barbra was terrific in Fockers - so natural and funny - even if she isn't the centre of the scene - Barbra constantly acts - the mark of a great actor/ress that.
I think Up The Sandbox is incredibly underrated.

Funny Girl would be the top, but I really enjoyed the Owl and the Pussycat and The Prince of Tides was a great film that Barbra and Nick Nolte should of won Oscar's for Best Actor and Best Director.Barbra your day will come, so you will have to Direct another Great movie but please make an appearance in it because you are so beautiful inside and out .I Love ,Love, Love the new Album cover
Lee Anne
I would have to say Funny Girl, The Way we Were, Yentl, The Prince of Tides. Oh yeah, and Funny Lady, On a Clear Day, Hello Dolly, Whats up Doc and Nuts.
It's difficult, I try to choose only five:
Funny Girl
The Way We Were
Yentl
The Prince of Tides
The Mirror Has Two Faces
but I love her performances ever; I thought that NUTS is her most sensitive role and in HELLO DOLLY and WHAT'S UP DOC? she was a master comedienne.
I agree with the people who thinks UP THE SANDBOX is very underrated; it's a peculiar little gem.
For me it's Yentl, more than 25 years after the films release "A Piece of Sky" still makes my heart race and the hairs stand up on my arms. Nobody on film acts with their voice with the caliber that Barbra Streisand does. Talk about being in a class all your own!
I still like "Hello Dolly" very much because the musical (post the 1950's) is such a difficult genre to master in the movie business. Barbra steals every scene she's in and all the musical arrangements are beautiful. "The mirror has two faces" is also very charming.
In her films, her character always goes through some sort of change, a learning experience or moves on with her life. I like that sentiment.
Gotta love Yentl and that soaring soundtrack. A Star is Born was my introduction to "The Voice" so it has a special familiarity for me. And then there's "The Way We Were" which I've seen more often than all the others. Her ability to speak with her eyes and a head tilt in that film is uncanny.
Wow, that's a super hard question! I couldn't pick just one. It changes daily because they're all so great! I think for right now I'd have to pick either The Mirror Has Two Faces or of course Funny Girl.

Hiya Pilar GIGI! My Bud finally logged in!
You know my answer is always YENTL...I love the music and the background scenery and the costumes and of course the directing and the director/producer!
I love the time this takes place...It just seems so long ago. I love history and Barbra has taken us back in time to a place that was actually not too long ago...but of course while growing up in America....this story seems so unreal. Yentl teaches us that orthodox religious philosophy plays in how we view gender freedoms that we take for granted today. The gay community loves this film!
Yours Truly,

Strange as it may seem I'll say my favorite movie is "Up The Sandbox" even though I was hooked on Barbra after seeing "Funny Girl" on the big screen in 1969. "Sandbox" had a great script, great directing, great acting by all, great and absurd humour ... and it had Barbra at her very best the whole way through. But sadly it was ahead of its time and therefore misunderstood or not understood at all.

Without question it's Funny Girl. I think when all is said and done, that will be remembered as her greatest movie triumph. Her performance was explosive.
Which reminds me...at that year's Academy Award ceremony when she won the Oscar, Funny Girl was also nominated for Best Movie. The clip they showed was Don't Rain On My Parade. When it ended, the audience spontaneously erupted with a thunderous standing ovation.
That was the first and only time I remember that happening.
She IS the greatest star.
I believe that Barbra would rather her best movie triumph be known as Yentl.
i´ve seen Yentl 4 a very long time..(i really love that movie).and is absolutely the number one
But i also really like .. the mirror has 2 faces....coz´as she `d said...."she finally get the guy"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always enjoy that movie .... and you learn a lot .
the winners are the 2 movies for me
Ho!! but in The prince of tides she looks so sexy!!....
I don´t know wich one to chooose!! jajajajaa
A Star Is Born and Yentl are standouts for me, but I love her comedies, especially the underrated For Pete's Sake...and Meet The Fockers is histerical...She works so well playing that type of character and with Dustin Hoffman. Also Owl and Pussycat.
Definitely a hard decision cause I love all her movies. This woman can do anything! She can be a comedian as well as a fabulous drama actress and awww, that heavenly voice!!! I especially loved Yentl and A Star is Born on the drama side. I had a BLAST with For Pete's Sake. Barbra, you are definitely a GENIUS and YOU ROCK BIG TIME!
Drama-Nuts
Comedy-Owl and Pussycat
Musical-its a wash, all 6
but i like the dramas the most, Nuts, Way We Were, Prince of Tides...
My favorite Barbra movies: Yentl, Fanny Girl and The mirror has tow faces.
I am from Mexico and I have always been a big fan of this wonderful and marvelous woman. She can do anything, she is a grate an actress as a grate singer I fell in love with her voice since the first time I saw Fanny Girl.

I first saw Funny Girl when I was about 10 yrs old ,when my aunt viola snuck me in to see the movie and have been a fan ever since,I learned to sing listening to streisand records and moved to New york from small town Pa. to follow in barbra 's foot steps.
I was skinny and cross eyed as a kid and still am very slim I was the classic guy who loved musical theatre barbra , liza etc.
I think the heart of funny girl is summed up when twoards the end of the movie
when fanny says to nick
" for the longest time you made me feel beautiful"
and nick says
"you are beautiful"
Many who are not that handsome or a classic beauty have had to deal witht being looked over and rejected and have tried to sometimes compensate with some of our other talents to gain our attention and affirmation , but still long to know what it feels like to be that handsome leading man.

It is between 2 Hello Dolly - the costumes were AMAZING , she was AMAZING & i first saw it when i was about 5 yrs old & it is still my all time fave film now & the 2nd one has to be funny girl , her talent is so raw & believable it also made me cry & when she sings My man at the end it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up .
I really am surprised to see how many fans love Hello Dolly. I know I did'nt make Barbra rich, but I have always felt like a loner when it comes to that movie. I have also enjoyed a renewed interest in the film since I saw Walle.
My favorite film, like everyone else, is hard to list as just one, but I would have to say What's Up Doc; because the movie was such a mainstay in my home growing up. I still laugh when I think about the movie, don't you?
ON A Clear day!!!!!!!!! then funny girl and yentl then the rest.... lol
As a true Barbra fan, I LOVE THEM ALL!!!!!!!! Just like her music, love it all. TV appearances, love them all....
I think I would choose Yentl however, if I had to pick.
Yentl is my all time favourite movie, eveything about it is wonderful, and of course the sountrack is amazing.
Hello Dolly was the first movie I remember seeing Barbra in, the vision of her walking down that staircase singing hello dolly left a big impression on me and I've loved her ever since.
On A Clear Day, Funny Girl, Funny Lady, Prince Of Tides, Mirror Has Two Faces, and of course Meet the Fockers, her and Dustin Hoffman were excellent together.
If I had to flee the house and could only take one.. it'd be Clear Day. What would I give to see the uncut and reportedly lost version?.. lol it hurts just to think about it!
Yentl
I can't decide between Funny Girl, A Star Is Born, and Nuts. They all had a mega impact. I guess I would have to say Funny Girl cause that was the one that I saw first and got me hooked on all of Barbra's work. Oh but I love Yentl, and The Way We Were........All of them is my answer
It has to be Funny Girl!! I have loved that movie since I first saw it at the age of 14. However "On a clear day" is a very close second place.x
My favorite would have to be Funny Girl. That is the first movie I can recall my mother and I sitting down to watch together when I was a very little girl.
FUNNY GIRL!!!
Actually, I am watching this movie right now, I know all the songs by heart. It's a classic. She's the best, nobody can sing Don't Rain on my Parade like Barbra. It was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscar's. Barbra deserved her Oscar. I love all the songs. UH. It's just the best movie in the world.
I would say that "The Way We Were" has her best performance but "Funny Girl" is a better film. Both are wonderful and I've seen them many times, but "Funny Girl" is such a classic film with so many memorable, iconic moments.
Others I love: "Hello, Dolly", "What's Up, Doc?", "Yentl" and "The Prince of Tides". I also have a sneaking regard for "For Pete's Sake" because it shows off Streisand's comedic skills at their best. It should also be noted that she has directed four actors to Oscar-nominated performances. "Tides" in particular is filled with honest, genuine moments.
Barbara is very cute actress and singer...My favourite movie is Prince of Tides..She was so nice and play so emotional that part...PERFECT!
What's Up Doc
The Mirror Has Two Faces
Funny Lady
The Prince of Tides!!!! It was an amazing film!!
