I just entered today. Wow. I fell asleep on that one. I ordered the CD because I love the Windmills song, and my favorite is by Sting. I was hoping that Barbra would have an even more gut-wrenching rendition, and she did. I love it. I also loved the "That Face" song. I'm very impressed with both of these. I'm an older Barbra fan. I've loved her music since I was 9 years old, and I turn 50 this year! I love her older material, but her new stuff is awesome. I think her "On A Clear Day" movie was very interesting in its story about reincarnation. I also love Yentl, because that year it came out was the year my Dad died as a result of a motorcycle accident. I went to the movies 8 times to watch and grieve. I can't describe the pain, but the movie was very cathartic and came out at the right time. I've been keeping track of Barbra's career here and there when I get the chance. I don't know as much as many fans, but I do know that her work has always inspired me to try harder in my life. Being a mid-life orphan, there is really no support net for security, and I find that Barbra's movies and work give me a sense of feeling okay with the world. It's always work that's positive and inspiring.

It truly helped me deal with my job too. (I was a corrections officer in Connecticut for over 20 years, and retired from that intense job 2 years ago. I used to sing Barbra's songs on my way to and from work. Believe me when I tell you, her work helped me remain positive in situations where the atmosphere was anything but positive. LOL!)

I have been a fan of Barbra for a long time! What is different about me is that I am hard of hearing, but with Barbra it like listening to an Angel! She really blew me away when my Dad called me over to the TV (HBO ..Putting it together) and said for me to listen to her and that I would like her. Well, Like her? NO ..fell in love with her!! For the first time, could really hear with she was saying!! That is a big deal to me and my Dad knew that. If you want to put a % on my hearing loss (not measured in %, but is the easiest way to explain my loss) I am about 60 % deaf, but with hearing aid, that helps. I thought I never see her live, but I did have a chance to see her in AC!! I cried most of the time!! LOL!! But would love to meet her..but ....I take what I can get and just wanted to thank Barbra for opening the world of music to my ears!! Thank you Barbra!!

Sooooo crushed the contest already ended?? HOPE NOT! Being a life-long fan since I was 16 & first saw "Funny Girl", (shows how old I am!), I continue to be awestruck at the talent and sheer genius of the one and only Barbra. How lucky someone is going to be....meeting her has been in many a dream over the years. After listening to "That Face" and "The Windmills of Your Mind", recurring themes come to mind: Incomparable, matchless, timeless, ageless, such class, such taste.
Speaking of exquisite taste; Barbra, after reading your new book, I have a couple of beautiful white Koi that don't really go in our pond also because of colors. Have room for two more?

Did you know that you didn't need to actually pre-order the CD?

We have entered in hopes that our 9 year old son will get the chance to meet Barbra!!! He absolutely adores her, he has watched everyone of her movies, knows all her songs and loves to watch anything that has to do with Barbra. We have attached a video he requested we record for Barbra, with his performance of her medley, performed at a New York concert in 2009. Wish him luck!

I have pre ordered the album from Spain with a bittersweet feeling.

Hapiness to know something is coming from Barbra and the pain of being rejected for the contest.

I could understand that the prize wouldn't include the travel but the chance to meet Barbra should not be a discriminatory issue.

The words "discrimination" and "Barbra" cannot be associated.

Please take my comment as a loving attempt to improve a situation.

I would have purchased Barbra's new C.D whether there was a contest to meet her or not, that being said LOL..Here is why I hope that I'M the person that gets to win the "Meet Barbra, On Set" contest..
1) I live right here in the San Fernando Valley , Think of all the money saved! No plane tickets or hotel room costs! (although a night in a comfortable bed for a change would be nice)
2) I have been an admirer of Miss Streisand's since I was 12 years old (I am now almost exactly 4 times that age now)!!!
3) it would be a great nod to my mother Celia Nahmod Altieri, who was the person who introduced me to Barbra's talent and sadly passed away when I was a 15 yr old boy.
4)I will be a complete nightmare for everyone in my life if I DON'T win this contest!!!
All kidding aside, The two songs I have heard so far are absolutely beautiful and I am so excited about the release of the new album...

It truly has been a magical and challenging journey... growing up in the Shenandoah Valley... the heart of Jerry Falwell land... needles to say... has been one brilliantly twisted freaky and beautiful journey... One magical moment... one of the first jobs i had... was working in the very office depicted in one of my favorite films as a child... "Miracle on 34th Street" <3 I had the privilege of working for the Legendary Parade Lady... Jean McFaddin... Our office was responsible for all of the annual events... including... Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks.... During the fireworks one year... i was stationed on a tugboat... There was enough time coming up the East River... to find the exact location... where Barbra Streisand sang... "Don't Rain on My Parade" in "Funny Girl". I got to stand on a tug coming up the East River... and... Sing... with all the passion of my heart and soul... "Don't Rain on My Parade... just like Barbra Streisand did in "Funny Girl!" Sweet! I bought the CD earlier this morning, downloaded the tracks and recorded them on a CD, uploaded them to Ipod, Ipad and I can't stop listening to them. I am simply speechless. I was looking forward to listening to your rendition of Windmills of your mind as I knew it would be something out of this world. You are simply the best. As a brazilian fan who has all your CDs, DVDs... I also feel sorry I cannot take part in this contest to have the chance to meet you. Why sould only the people from the US have this opportunity??
Anyway... thank you so much for being part of my life for almost 30 years now.

Can you imagine what life would be like without Barbra Streisand in this world. No one would every have had the opportunity to hear her gorgeous pipes. I have had her in my heart and head for 50 years now....probably more as my mother tells me she listened to her so much when she was pregnant with me and my father was overseas somewhere!
In my life I have used Ms. Streisand to cheer me, to make me weep, to raise me up when I am down. She has been a constant in my life and to have a chance to meet her would be Faint Worthly.....I dont think I have every fainted...LOL.
Just to be your fan has been enough for me, I have shown and shared her with anyone that knows me. In 1994 I got to see her in Concert in Washington, DC and its as if it was yesterday. I remember every note, every sound, every joke and even got to see Mr. President Clinton all in the same evening. You are my top, Ms. Barbra and will be till we are both gone from this earth. Sorry to ramble but it needs to be said.

Here we go again - holding my breath until July 6. (Did the rules originally say June 30th? I'm confused!) Yes, I've always wanted to meet you, Barbra! I was definitely going to buy 'What Matters Most', but I'm so excited to have a chance to meet you also. I was so close with my cute brown Toy Poodle, Ch Silkwind Tia Marie, in the Cutest Pet Contest in 2009! Since there is nothing I can do but hope and pray to win a random drawing, my fingers will be crossed, my breath will be held until then. Thanks again for the opportunity!
