Hi Barbra, I have been a fan for almost all my life. I am 56 years old now....and oddly enough I used to say that I wanted you to sing at my funeral...that's how much I love your voice and your movies. Now I am faced with stage 4 colon cancer for the past two years....and that funeral might not be that far off...belief in God and a positive attitude has done me great pride, I am still soing well, but as a wish come true, I would really love to me you, and hear that glorious voice.. Please Barbra...love Marilyn

I entered....I am so excited at the thought of possibly winning a ticket and being able to see Barbra live! This is my version of "the golden ticket" from Willy Wonka! As a 16 year old girl who felt like she never fit in anywhere, your songs guided me through a very difficult time in my life. I danced a solo to "A Piece of Sky" from Yentl, it's still my favorite piece I've ever danced. Thank you for sharing your talents with all of us, you'll never know how many lives you have and will continue to touch. Best Wishes ~ Melinda

Barbra,
seeing you live in concert has been a lifelong dream of mine...since your first appearance on the ed sullivan show (my mom yelling downstairs for me to come watch), i have been totally mesmerized. I have followed your career since then and really miss hearing your beautiful voice in recent years. The terrific picture of you on the cover of Parade magazine last sunday and hearing about your upcoming CD (produced by the amazing Diana Krall)
is exciting news!

my best friend from childhood and i are huge fans. Noreen Friend Fraser
is battling stage IV breast cancer. Noreen's foundation is now her primary focus to raise money, awareness and research (with the brightest minds collaborating) to someday find the cure for womens' cancers.
In the meantime, Barbra, please know your musical genius and talent will always manage to soothe our soul and lift our spirits...thankyou!

As a long-time fan who still is, to some degree, I was delighted to read that you are doing this one-night show at the Village Vanguard in New York on September 26. I'm sorry it isn't a week's engagement. More people could hear you in a nightclub, which, I am told by long-time fellow show-biz aficionados who did, or claim to have, is one thrilling, mesmerizing experience.

I never did hear you in a nightclub, but I did see you on Broadway in "Funny Girl," and, three years later, made a special trip to New York to see you and Elliott make your entrance at the premiere of the movie at the Criterion. I was kidded by a fellow writer, a New York friend, for this dip into fandom, when I should be too sophisticated for such things, but I didn't care. I had to see it. Now, THAT was a movie premiere! And the tent party afterwards where the Astor Hotel used to be was spectacular. A lingering memory is seeing Johnny Carson up close, in a tuxedo and a cobalt-blue ruffled tuxedo shirt, and lovely Fran Stark, among many notables.

I am looking forward to your new record. I thought your recent CBS special was a wonderful reminder of how intelligently you interpret songs. Nobody can compare to you, really.

So sorry your singing dates are so infrequent. Perhaps you will enjoy your Village Vanguard date enough to consider, well, what about this: Barbra Streisand On Broadway, Singing the Great American Songbook. Limited engagement, of course. And you could sing, and talk about all the great songwriters you've worked with--Arlen, Styne, Hamlisch, Sondheim. Think about it, if you already haven't. Broadway needs you. Boy, does it need you! And maybe you need it, just a little, at this point?

Would love to hear you at the Village Vanguard, but the odds are very much against it.

But t's good, and generous, of you to do this. I hope, above all, that you enjoy it, and will consider more live singing appearances--especially Broadway!

I am from Italy. Living a Barbra concert is my greatest dream. I thought it could come true two years ago in Rome, then it terribly faded. Could I ever live it once? I would like so much to be in New York on Sempteber 26th...and to be american!!!!

Yay!! More chances to win! Just submitted a picture of my Basset Hound "Max". Hope everyone that reads this will go out to Barbra's Facebook page and vote for him!! (Shameless plea for votes!) I'm keeping my fingers (toes, and everything else) crossed that I will be in that Village Vanguard audience.

That's great!! What a fair and fun way to select an audience - good work Barbra! - Uh-oh - Rules say Canadians not allowed!?! What's up with that? How about a contest for your friendly fans north of the border. Maybe send a couple of tix to the 1st Canadian miffed by the rules ( ; .Or maybe pop-up here for a concert!

Cheers!
