Greed.
Simple greed is the root of all of the recent disasters facing this amazing country. The sustainability of our planet should be a common goal for all governments to recognize and protect with all reasonable oversights. As the Gulf Oil Spill continues, politicians cling to their partisan views while the clock is ticking away. Where is the national will to change from a society of full time consumers to a nation ready to face the truth? Where is the urgency to begin the process of converting to clean energy -- to provide new jobs for an industry in upheaval?
If the disaster in the Gulf can't awaken our national spirit to forge ahead with bold plans to reinvent our shared future... what else can?
